Alizee was on TV5 Monde. Wow, what a difference from the camera phones in Moscow. Great video and audio. I really enjoyed the performance. Alizee performed 5 songs: MJ, PLP, JEAM, Fifty-Sixty and Psychedelices. All done WELL.
Take a look, of course I will start with the new version of JEAM. I have to get this on my ipod.
Go ahead and ask. Did I miss the 'Moscow strut'? ABSOLUTELY, and yeah that is what I am calling it. You heard it here first.

Here is a great example of using a remix. Changing the original to fit a new format.
Its Stepmania everyone..where is the disco ball...
Or if you are old school and want to dance with Alizee to the original JEAM...
How did you do?

Posting videos is already being done by YouTube and Daily Motion and what a great job they do. There are some great Alizee forums out there, I visit them myself. I have tried to create something a little different for Alizee and her fans by publishing this blog. A blog is a collections of ideas, opinions and thoughts. So now we have this blog full of different thoughts, Bob Dylan interviews, Gwen Stafani videos, maps and graphs. Can this blog now meld more then my opinion? Maybe an occasional guest commentary. Then I thought: It would be so cool if Alizee could post her opinion occasionally. No interviews, no crazy questions just an occasional opinion about something that may have appeared on this blog. Maybe three times a year. It could be information regarding which song is most popular in Mexico and how surprising that is, or that Rimbaud post was awesome/ridiculous/whatever. Here it could be a post once a month or once a year. On the official page or official MySpace it may lead to people expecting something regular. Here, we expect nothing, we are grateful for whatever would be given. No follow up questions, just a post, a statement from something that sparked an opinion. Music, fashion, football, Tinkerbell, Corsica, it is all covered here. So this is an open invitation to you Alizee to be a guest author. Am I too bold, too crazy? Dare to dream. I say why not!
As Tinkerbell said: If you can't imagine yourself being Peter Pan, you won't *be* Peter Pan, so eat up.
I do not know if anyone ever wonders who else looks at the blog. As you see by the counter lower on the page that visitors come from all over the world. I would like to thank everyone for stopping by. Mexico and France have a nice presence here, not bad for an English based blog. Repeat visitors come from everywhere and anywhere. I am always amazed when there is a visitor from Bangladesh and the next visitor is from 10 miles away. I can not decide which one is more unusual.
There was an Alizee interview where she was talking about going on to YouTube and reading the comments regarding her. I wonder...has she stopped by here?

We all get a little out of control over remixes. We see or hear one of our favorite songs redone and we scream no (including me, sorry).
We need to take a look at the big picture. What really is a remix (other then your favorite song being butchered, you believe).
From wikipedia: A remix is an alternative version of a song, different from the original version. A song may be remixed to give a song that was not popular a second chance at radio and club play, or to alter a song to suit a specific music genre or radio format.
It gives Alizee a broader reach by taking a popular song and attempt to reach a new audience with it. It does not mean that it is a better version just a different version. One version may be for radio, another for dance and still another for the cafe. The original version is still there for you (or me). The new version may attract new fans and help her career.
I noticed the mixed reactions to the remixed songs. Some love a certain new version but it seems that most expect the song to be performed just like their favorite video version every time Alizee sings it. For Alizee to grow that could not happen. Thank goodness Alizee had the guts to slap us on the side of the head with this Moscow concert in regards to songs, clothes, hairstyle and more. I am an Alizee fan and want to see success with her career. You broke the mold Alizee now let us see what you have in store for us.
I DO like the new JEAM, so there.

Well this is truly interesting. Geostrophic.
I was looking around at all these references for Geostrophic and Alizée.
There is a blog out there that actually says Alizée's real name is Geostrophic. No kidding.
I have the translation widget from Babel on this blog site. I like it, it is easy to use. It is great for looking at web sites and having them translated into your language.
On my previous post I noticed that Geostrophic was showing up on the Babel translation of the TV5 web site. Babel is translating Alizée into Geostrophic.
I really don't mind that a computerized language translator is coming up with that translation. I understand.
But, there is no English version of a person. Alizée is Alizée.
Of course this could be a omen. Alize is a specific trade wind that blows across the Caribbean and North Africa. Geostrophic is a more global description of these winds. Alizée is going global!
A faux pas or a prediction...
Alizee will be on French television May 31st. The television station will be TV5 Monde and the show is called Acoustics. She is to sing several songs.
Here are some links to help you track this down.
Acoustic TV5 Monde in French
Acoutic TV5 Monde in English
TV5 it states it is live but it is a 20 minute news clip
This could be something special.

I have an idea...for a concert...in the USA...for Alizee...
It takes place the last weekend (actually 4 days long) of April 2009.
Yes, I know that is pretty far away. But it is plenty of time to prepare for...
Most of you are going, what? where?
This is a great idea.
First the boring, What: wikipedia
Or the Coachella website.
Where: It is Palm Springs CA. area for a general idea. Los Angeles, Mexico all in proximity.
In a recent MTV video Alizee names some favorite songs. Some of those artist performed there in the past. Check it out.
2006 Daft Punk
And here is the French performer Yelle singing in French. If Yelle can do Alizee can rock the house.
A great vacation for you, a great venue for Alizee. Someone get this to her!!!
Check out the audience Alizee!!! They move, they cheer, they yell, it's all good.

What was going on here? I have not read anything on this, but there appears to be someone on stage while Alizee is trying to perform. The odd thing is that no one does anything and Alizee has to walk off stage. That is what appears to happen. If that is what is going on here I can understand how difficult it would be to feel comfortable and to perform at your best. I do not think it is fair to rate Alizee's performance when she has to be concerned about her safety. First the Mexico City autograph session gone wrong now this. I think security needs to be increased so Alizee can feel comfortable at these public events. Can anyone tell me more about this?
There has been a lot of attention drawn to Alizee and her shoes on this trip to Moscow. I believe most rabid Alizee fans may not be at the fore front of fashion. But platforms are in and here is a little fashion update.
Music videos with platforms are not unheard of, here is Gwen Stefani perfoming live in her platforms.
Or the all time favorite.

Do you have 10 minutes?
Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a 1956 science fiction film.
The plot centers on Dr. Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy), a local doctor, who finds a rash of patients accusing their loved ones of being impostors. Another patient is a former sweetheart of his; recent divorcee Becky Driscoll (Dana Wynter), who tells him that her cousin, Wilma, has this same strange fear about Uncle Ira.
Assured at first by the town psychiatrist Dr. Dan Kaufman (Larry Gates), that the cases are nothing but "epidemic mass hysteria," Bennell soon discovers, with the help of his friend Jack Belicec (King Donovan), that the townspeople are in fact being replaced by simulations grown from plantlike pods; perfect physical duplicates who kill and dispose of their human victims. The Pod People are indistinguishable from normal people, except for their utter lack of emotion. The pod people work together to secretly spread more pods—which grew from "seeds drifting through space for years"—in order to replace the entire human race.(Wikipedia)
L'Alize performance in Moscow
One of my favorites performances, L'Alize, Start at 2:30 if you are short on time.
I have to issue an Alizee tattoo post once every two weeks minimum. It is the most searched phrase that brings newbies to this site. Yes, it is true. I would have never have guessed that but it is true. I do not try to figure it out, I just post it. So here is the latest pic from Moscow. No, it did not wash off yet, Tinkerbell is still there.

"99 Luftballons" is a Cold War-era protest song by the German singer Nena. Originally sung in German, it was later re-recorded in English as "99 Red Balloons"
VH1 Classic, an American cable television station, ran a charity event for Hurricane Katrina relief in 2006. Viewers who made donations were allowed to choose which music videos the station would play. One viewer donated $35,000 for the right to program an entire hour and requested continuous play of Nena's "99 Luftballons" and "99 Red Balloons" videos for an entire hour. The station broadcasted the videos as requested from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EST on March 26, 2006.(wikipedia)
The original in German. I hope you enjoy it. It is a one hit wonder from 1984.

Alizee singing the 80's hit 99 Red Balloons.
J'en ai Marre, the hot new beat.
I DO like this!
Alizee files and formats are flying in from Moscow. Early returns are low quality phone video but we will be happy with anything. Another 80's song was added, Nena's 99 luft balloons, yeah I have that in my library. JEAM (J'en ai Marre) has a new beat, I like it. Go easy on the quality and the sound.

Well there is plenty going on in Moscow. Here is what is going on in video and pictures. This is at the airport.
And there appears to be some fan issues. I am not going to do the play by play on that at this point in time. Some fan sites are more in step with that.
But, and there is always a but, I will say: Alizée/Jérémy have the best security, do you need to do autograph sessions. Do entertainers still do that? And get the glasses with the the fake nose and moustache for going through airports.
Add to that the recent issue with Voici there comes a quality of life issue. I do not want Alizee to pull a Rimbaud (see post).
There is an unknown mesmerizing quality to Alizee's voice that I enjoy. Please, do what you have to to keep up the great work.
In response to the the Alizee mindgames post, one reader writes... "It's Grover" of Sesame Street fame. Doh!
There goes my Conspiracy Theory.
Back in 1965 what did Bob Dylan have to say about a t-shirt he wore and what it meant.
Now where else are you going to find a Grover and Bob Dylan reference in an Alizee website?
But because I do not do the incessant posting of the standard shake, wiggle and roll videos I do not have 5000 visitors a day. C'est La Vie, C'est moi.

A post by DAVEP9999 that deserves mention(a second time), it's one of the best and I quote: "When Alizee sings or talks in Enghish , I swear I feel like Gomez when Mortisha speaks French to him - IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! I'd write bad checks for her!!!! ( Of course, those are the only checks I could write)lol...
Well DAVEP9999, after this audio clip you better have your checkbook handy!
There will be an autograph session on Saturday at the MediaMarkt in Moscow. I am looking forward to see some pictures coming back from that. Can not wait to see what clothes she will be wearing and what hair style...
The unconfirmed information is Alizee will sing the new album Psychedelices plus some of the old songs.
Go ahead, play that clip again, you know you want to.
Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Alizee has been at it again.
Here I am, minding my own business, NBA playoff game on in the background, I am just listening and checking out some music. Using Last.FM to check out some different songs, see who is going to the Moscow concert and just generally trying to chill. Then running through some videos something catches my eye. A little 3 second clip that I had not seen before, and it is Alizee's shirt. What is that shirt??? What is on it??? I think it is those animations that are on the Fifty-Sixty video! I wondered what that was all about on the video, I truly do not have a clue on this one. I thought it might be the French version of Aqua Teen Hunger Force If anyone can let me know more please post a comment, email or use the forum widget. I would love to know more.
The best part is that Alizee is wearing an item of clothing that ties into that Fifty-Sixty video (AGAIN). All these pre-planned moves in apparel that relate to that video is just so curious. It is like Alizee is 'Jason Bourne', she does not do random.
Let us now look at Alizee in the form of a graph. I knew everyone was getting tired of her pictures and videos...you are welcome. For all ten of you that read this. Hey, get the word out or I will do more of this.
So, anyone ever use Google Trends? Anyone, anyone?
I punched in Alizee and used only 2008 information. In the world according to Google, Mexico is the country she is most Googeled in, followed by Peru, Russia then France. Facinating is it not? How about those top five languages! Spanish, Russian, French, Romanian and Polish. I guess I am writing this in the wrong language.
You say it is because of her visit there. Not really, if you punch in year by year, Mexico is the leader in 2007 and 2006 also.
You are able to look at it by cities, it resembles Alizee's current tour of Mexico, hmmmm.
Great graph, huh? So put that into your 'for what's worth' column.

The MySpace music is fixed. Only the music player running.
Good job Alizee MySpace crew.
Checking on the Mexico tour...please check your local venue to confirm that particular concert. I have noticed unconfirmed information on the internet and do not want to post information that is not accurate. Now that was politically correct!
MySpace, not sure what is going on there. Music playing all over the place. The music player starts with the Rubato mix, but then background starts up. Some of the background music I recognized were "Now we are free" from the Gladiator movie, also a brief segment of "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin. Then a video auto started in the friends area post.
Come on Jérémy, help her out.
Easy for me to say.

The blog posting on April 27, 2008, it was noted that the old official website, www.moi-alizee.com, was now an advertisement for a new movie release. Today I noticed that it was now a blank page.
The power of the Alizee blog!
OK, OK, maybe it was not the power of this blog that had it removed, but we did notice it.
Radio Alizee, I found it on that curious toolbar that now spans my browser. I have not been able to get the Radio Alizee 'station' to work. I always end up taking that as a challenge when I should just walk away. Here is what I found...
There is a website written in Russian (got to love it, fans all over the world). The name is in English and is called MyAlizee.com. As in most fan sites there is a forum page, this is where you want to go, http://myalizee.com/forum/, or click here.
The very first post you will see icons for Winamp, Real Player, Windows Media and Quicktime. Click on the one of your choosing and guess what - it is Radio Alizee.
A scrolling message states: MegamiX Electrique by Nidalizee.com
Now who is this Le Nid d'Alizee? Click through to the main page Looks official. More for you all to look at.
Maybe Radio Alizee could carry the new concerts in Moscow and Mexico. That would be awesome.

I was doing a little surfing and thought I would share some sites.
I was a little confused looking at Alizee MySpace site(s). So what did I find?
Well we have this group of Alizee sites and Alizee Universal sites and here they are.
Alizee Universal - Site
Alizee Universal - MySpace
Alizee - Official Site
Alizee - Official MySpace
Alizee - Official YouTube
Alizee - CBM
Next you get to find out how big a fan you are...The Alizee Toolbar. The toolbar downloads to your browser as a toolbar. Includes a search engine, news and info, an Alizee radio player, a links button and more.
That is where I found all the above official links.
One other link was listed, an Alizee Universal YouTube but it did not go to any Alizee information. There is a YouTube site listed under Alizee but appears not to really be any official or unofficial but I sent 'it' an email like it was one...let's see what happens to that.

10 days to go to the Moscow concert. I am looking forward to this. What Alizee sings is not that important to me, I like the old songs, I like the new songs, I like a mix of songs. More interesting to me will be the psychology of the choices, how will she lead us. The hairstyle, the clothing. Not because I want to see how cute, how sexy but again how does she wants to present herself to us. I like Alizee's music, I will like what she sings even if she shaves her head and wears a barrel (please don't). How she wants to present herself to me is the interesting factor. Being an Alizee fan is more like an fun adventure. Along the lines of a Madonna or Gwen Stefani but in a French sort of way.Alizee Nation
This is a '60 minutes' clip of a Bob Dylan interview. He is discussing the public's perception of him. Substitute Bob's words 'prophet and savior' with 'Lolita', substitute Bob's reference to 'Elvis' with 'Madonna' and you might have an Alizee interview. People see you for something you're not (lolita) versus married, family..."Isn't that something". They were just songs, not sermons.

Alizee asking to describe her new music.
A mixture of pop, rock, vintage new wave with many samples and electro, a universe fresh and coloured, warm pastel colours, plays on words and candy... Is this a good definition of your artistic universe?
Its a bit difficult to define my music! I think that tangy pop is the most exact and appropriate term. Its also possible to find what I did before: the omnipresence of candy and multiple meanings. Except that its not the same person that does it and she doesn't do the same play on words as Mylene. She and Jean Fauque are masters of amusing themselves with play on words, to play with words and to always try to find double meanings. This album is an evolution in contrast to what I used to do: It was much more dance. I have met many people who have brought their touch, and that is what makes there have several different things and a unifying theme at the same time in the album. My voice is the unifying theme between the songs
Bob Dylan asking to describe his new music.
I told you this was not going to be your usual Alizee fan site. So let's get started.
First, thanks to www.lillytown.com for those article postings, great job!
Reading through those interviews I thought, I have heard those answers before. Alizee has a much more polite and courteous way of presenting her replies. Where was that? I know. Bob Dylan. Don't hate me but that is what it reminded me of. The way she handles herself with interviews also are somewhat early Dylan. Dylan's transition from acoustical to electric which no one wanted him to do, Alizee's transition from Lolita to Entertainer which 'fans' were having a tough time with.
More interview clips:
In "Mademoiselle Juliette", you say "Mademoiselle takes off, Don't break herself apart, In her role she only wants herself, No replicas of all the shows". Is this a transposition to your own past?
We didn't do it in that state of mind! When we sing a song written by somebody else, whether it be Mylene or Jean Fauque, we see several months afterward even more interpretations and then we say: "Cool, I didn't even realize that it could be interpreted like that!". So in effect, I realized a few months afterwards that it could be interpreted badly, but at the same time, I like this song a lot.
did'nt even realize that it could be interpreted like that. People looking for meanings that where not even there.
Personally, do you think that you were caged in, that you were artistically frustrated, that you didn't have your word to say...
No it wasn't the case! I told myself instead: "What you are doing musically, is it that if it were not you singing it, you would listen to it on your iPod?" That was the real question!
Beatnik vs. Lolita, singers with a message, first records better?, because I feel like singing... A brash 1966 Bob Dylan. (the short clip of Bob taking pics at the airport looks like Alizee taking pics in Mexico)

I was reading through some Alizee articles and interviews. I grabbed a few pieces that I liked.
First for those tattoo inquiries:
How many tatoos do you have?
I have a salamander on my ankle and a big one on my back.
Is it the famous Tinkerbell that we find everywhere at your house and that follows you?
(Laughs). I think that it is my guardian angel. I had it tatooed on my back, so I can't see it and I can't get weary of it. I can only see it when I get out of the bathroom. Its a character that I like a lot since I was a little girl, mostly because of her character because she is gentle and discreet. She appears like me from time to time! She is a little bit like me.
Interesting, so I cant see it and get weary of it.
To leave and live abroad?
No! I have already spent a lot of time adapting to the capital when I left Corsica, so I haven't the slightest desire to move again. From now own, I have gotten my bearings in Paris, I created a good nest for myself and I feel very good.
"Candy is my life!"
To stop music suddenly?
Yes! If one day, I like something else other than music, I will jump on it. I always promised myself to do everything that I want.
To stop music suddenly. I like that answer. I can appreciate that but hope she does not. Alizee's 3 years off was so unusual. Not many people can do that. I almost expect Alizee to pull a Rimbaud one of these days.
Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud was a French poet. As part of the decadent movement, his influence on modern literature, music and art has been enduring and pervasive. He produced his best known works while still in his late teens—Victor Hugo described him at the time as "an infant Shakespeare"—and gave up creative writing altogether before he reached 21.(wikipedia)
Alizee has already pulled a mini Rimbaud with those 3 years off, if you enjoy the Alizee style as I do let us hope she can enjoy her career and keep us entertained for some time to come.
I could go on and on. Alizee interviews are flat out interesting. Answers are generally straight forward and to the point.
So let's give credit where credit is due, check it out at http://www.lillytown.com/showthread.php?t=165 . If you have some time it is a definite worth the read!!!
