As Alizee her self stated on her Twitter site: "Bio: new album coming soon..."
Word is it will be loosely based on Edie Sedgwick. Just as the song fifty-sixty was.
You can check it out at Qobuz and scroll down to the red box with the info. (thanks to Ruroshen Twittering a Snatcher post at Alizee America)
I wish I were more fashion intelligent. Alizee is very fashion conscience, the clothes, the outfits the hair styles. Jeremy is also fashion oriented. I feel it is an area that is overlooked and could stand more coverage. This may also be some of the pull towards Edie.
There is an Edie Sedgwick MySpace
Alizee has surprised if not stunned us with Twitter. At least me! Alizee, I hope you are having a good giggle at us, fumbling all over ourselves.
It is difficult not to want to comment 5 lines for every word Alizee writes. Fun wondering what to expect next.
It is as if we are trying to befriend that new cat or dog, we are moving slow and cautious, concerned that any sudden movement will scare it away.
Maybe if we all just sit here quietly she will stay around and we can enjoy her company.
Oh, and by the way Alizee: Merci beaucoup pour twittering

I don't know what to say...I'm speechless...you could knock me over with a feather!
Alizee...on Twitter...and Twittering!!!
How -- cool -- is -- that!!!

This Sunday, May 3, there will be showdown of sorts, to see what song emerges as a fan favorite. This is being organized by Ruroshen of Alizee America.
This should be really interesting...
Personally I look upon it with mixed emotions. It would be like being a parent and being asked to pick your favorite child. It would kill me to vote against some of these songs. Then due to that emotional tug I may have a tendency to vote for the underdog. Do you have similar feelings?
"Lui ou Toi"
"Parler tout bas"
"Veni Vedi Vici"
"A quoi rêve une jeune fille"
Upbeat vs slow songs? So different, so tough. Moi...Lolita the one and only. L'Alize one of my favorite videos is with this one. VVV and Abracadabra, two orphans I root for, as you know by finding them alone on the right hand column. Why, as with everything Alizee, I don't know I just like them. VVV has a surprising world wide appeal. Abracadabra...I just love hearing Alizee say abracadabra. Lui ou Toi, great story. J.B.G., if you don't know by now I guess I will let you find out on your own who likes this song. Mon Maquis, that low voice is just so...sexy.
Join in this Sunday!
4pm New York, 1pm Los Angeles, 10pm Paris

Twitter could be cool and so very interesting. It's kind of exciting to see Alizee return from her appearance in Mexico and update her MySpace and open a Twitter account. I think Twitter could really be fun when Alizee is working. In studio, on a concert trip... I had mentioned this in a post almost one year ago, April 29, 2008.
Speaking of cool. I think Alizee looks so cool in Ray Ban Wayfarers...that retro 80's look. I guess all of you are tired of hearing me say that too. I looked, 4 posts mentioning wayfarer sunglasses. Don't make me Rick Roll you!
(don't know how to search, example: type wayfarer in the upper left corner and click on search blog. Then you can rick roll yourself)
FYI, there is a RSS feed available on Twitter via 'live bookmark' to make it easier to check on updates

As most know there is a live cam in Ajaccio, Corsica which you can view. It is located about midway down on the left hand column.
So am I the only one that becomes mesmerized watching traffic going around that circle?
FYI, if you double click in the middle of the picture it will go to full screen. Hit the escape key to bring it back to the small screen.
I have been trying to figure out the "right of way" policy. I have determined that the "right of way" belongs to the boldest!
Some zip from right to left as if they were not even aware of the other traffic. Pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles...yikes!
Jeremy, Alizee, when in town feel free to wave at us as you go by. For that matter, anyone in Ajaccio drop us a note in the shoutbox and let us know when and we can be on the lookout! Hey, if you can't have fun, why bother.
Oh wow, a small boat zipping across the bay...

MySpace update! Yes, I said update not log on.
Generally I would not even know if it was updated but last log on there was talk about not updating the concert information...and I see no old concert information so...Alizee must have updated it.
Wow, look at all the times I used update or updating!
Personally, I am bit disappointed. I enjoy the log on no update and all the clamour it creates.
Alizee, you know what they at the zoo...don't feed the animals.
Just having some fun.

It seems I should do some investigating. After reading the comments on the previous post and statements in the shoutbox there maybe something I am missing. So I went on a quest looking for this 'dark side' this 'reinvention' that is being talked about.
In a past interview Alizee referred to going through an evolution, but it seems that theory is in debate. Her newer songs and her look have been noted as having a dark side...Let's get started.
To take on this task I put myself behind locked doors, opened up my best search techniques and started the hunt for the 'dark' Alizee, the reinvented Alizee. At first all seemed normal, but then...much to my surprise I started finding bits and pieces and starting putting them together.
The new bob hair style which I just fell for, appears to be an elaborate disguise. Check it out for yourselves.
I can't believe this was under my nose all the time and I just did not see it. Now I think I am starting to slip to the dark side theory.
But wait there's more. How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? To further substantiate the above claims I found evidence of this happening before. It appears every 29 years the dark side finds a female singer to influence. Below is documented evidence of this happening before. The file is dated 1980, you will notice it labeled with an X, I was able to pull this out of the X-files, due to this I don't know how long I will be able to keep it posted. The singer has a similar bob hair style to emulate the dark side character, just as Alizee does, and the dark side character actually does appear on this film!
The evidence stands, other then that I will not be able to confirm or deny anything.
The reinvention, the dark side...it's all there.
You can find anything if you look hard enough.

There appear to be two distinct groups of Alizee fans out in the world.
Group 1: The group I consider myself in. We actually like Alizee, we like the way she sings, her personality is just fascinating. We enjoy both the old and the new songs. We thought her appearance in Mexico last weekend was stylishly sexy. We enjoy her boldness in her willingness to change hairstyles.
Group 2: The majority by far by the way. Let's see, how should I put this...waaaaa, where are her short skirts, we want to see the little sailor outfit, sing all your old songs... keep your hair the same way forever.
When she was taking her 3 year break I was wondering...how is she going to be able to transform herself from this Lolita image to a viable star.
The Group 2's were wondering, gee, can she wear the little sailor outfit till she is 50.
Group 2's are almost shocked that she just played a role that Mylene Farmer created. Group 2's, here is a hint: James Gandolfini only played a role named Tony Soprano, he is not in the mafia in real life and...the show ended. Now he moves on. You can still love that character but James Gandolfini will be moving on too.
I think that if Alizee stayed with Mylene Farmer that Mylene could have turned that Lolita corner for her. But it just may not have gone in a direction Alizee was comfortable with. I did not say wrong, I said uncomfortable with.
For example, Mylene
This just may not be what she had in mind for now.
If you could help me out. Do you have any idea just how long you are going to keep talking about the little sailor outfit and such. A couple of months, a year?
I guess never.
Here's another hint for you: Miley Cyrus will not play Hanna Montana forever. But if you are a Group 2 Alizee fan...you do want her to play it forever. That's crazy.
And one last thing. Stop looking for a crisis in Alizee's life. Just enjoy her. Let's put away the jump to conclusion mat.

I'm begging you Alizee...
M.I.A 9 PM
The Killers, 10 PM, check the video quality, the sound, the audience, we Alizee fans would die for this
Peter Bjorn and John at Coachella 2009: Young Folks
Even the old guy, Sir Paul, Friday night
youtube coachella 2009 and have fun.
But just because she still sings Moi...Lolita...well see next post.
Do you think they will still be asking about Alizee's Lolita image when she is 50?
She will be turning 25 this August, married 5 years, has a 4 year old and would like more...She could be a grandmother in 15 years...
I liked Alizee's early career as much as the next, but please, give it a rest. Let her get on with her life, she has, we should also.
I think it would make more sense to ask her if she thought her career would follow a more sexy route similar to Mylene Farmer or Britney Spears. Now I believe the answer would be no, but it makes more sense to ask that then keep bringing up the Lolita question. That is the real question that is trying to be asked isn't it?
Those of you who think she should...I just don't think you would get the answer you want to hear. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, she would be so popular...do you think she wants to be popular that way? At least now you have something to debate. Lolita image is a memory.

Alizee looking great
Now I know there has been lots, and way too much, speculation on what people saw, or thought they saw.
Just be careful. There is a great line from the movie "Beyond the Sea" Kevin Spacey playing Bobby Darin says "People only hear what they see".
You see something, was what you saw interpreted correctly? Now you hear what you thought you saw.
A person's emotional state plays a huge role in the communication process (especially with women who are far more in tune with their emotional side than men). We interpret what we see based on how it makes us feel. If a person looks happy, we perceive them to be happy, even if they're not. If a person looks sad, we perceive them to be sad even if they aren't. That's why looks are so important: If you look like a pro, and act like a pro, then people will perceive you to be a pro. Their perception is their reality. Keep that in mind the next time you're with a client or at a function building your network. It's not what you are saying that's important. It's how you go about saying it. Remember - people hear what they see, not what you say.
Not the best video but you can get a feel for it.
An article from Excelsior. Just a nice simple article, nothing of note mentioned. The google English translation:
"AGUASCALIENTES .- The French singer Alizée was acclaimed during his presentation on Saturday in San Marcos in the city as part of the opening 181 of the National Fair of San Marcos.
The coronation ball in honor of Gabriela, who was named queen of the local festival, began at 22:00 hours when thousands of guests began arriving at the venue decorated by large gardens and fountains.
After dinner, the French interpreter left the stage and was greeted by applause and cries of those present there.
For an hour and a half topics as interpreted Alizée Mademoiselle Juliette, Lui and Moi Lolita iu toi, which were acclaimed by the public, although that did not sing the songs on a par with French, followed the rhythm of music.
Dressed in a black color skirt, a blouse with motifs similar to the skin of a leopard and a vest with stones, the artist wore a simple hairstyle, and that led her hair loose, as in most of their presentations.
Alizée hidrocálido captivated the audience to address a few words in Spanish, a language that does not dominate, since the end of the opening theme to the show said: "Thanks Aguascalientes hope you enjoy being here," also repeatedly expressed "thanks".
In concluding his presentation received flowers on stage, which increased the fair queen, princesses and other representatives of beauty contests were invited.
Organizers of the Feria de San Marcos decided that this year Alizée was present in the show because it is France the country invited to the celebrations of the local 2009.
Hours earlier, the singer gave a press conference with local media in a central hotel in town, and with the help of a translator answered questions regarding his visit to this institution and thanked the Mexican public response to his music.
"I'm very happy how I received the public in Mexico, Aguascalientes not know, but what I can say is that it is a pride for the French to have a representative in this country"

Link to live cam page of Aguascalientes
Go to the link to see the cam, it refreshes every 2 seconds.
I am not sure where it is located...
But it would be cool if Alizee fans would meet there at a certain time, let us know and wave to us and make us even more jealous. Too crazy I know, but it's fun to think about.
And out of nowhere there are hits from: Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Probably Alizee fans logging on with their laptops.
Envious: showing extreme cupidity; painfully desirous of another's advantages

Last May Alizee sang "Sounds of Silence" (1966)
Also we enjoyed "99 Luftballons" (1983)
A television appearance we watched "Hung Up" (2005)
Let's put on our Alizee thinking cap
Do you think we will get a new treat this Saturday?
Alizee is a child of the 80's...maybe something from that era.
You don't have an Alizee thinking cap?
Moi...Lolita is in the movie "A Good Year". Here is a video, it combines some still photos from the movie with Moi...Lolita soundtrack.
I enjoyed some of the comments posted at the youtube site: "It's hard to find good french jams. Dose anyone know if this song is on the soundtrack?"

I am looking forward this Alizee 'appearance' this Saturday.
I truly enjoyed Alizee's 'appearance' at the Luna awards. It was not an 'event' set up by her, not responsible for ticket sales, just be there and do her 'show'. It takes off any pressure that may result in being totally responsible for the 'event'. This Saturday should prove to be an expanded Luna awards type 'show' and has the opportunity to just come in, have fun and kick butt.
Maybe this will lead to more 'shows' like this. Part of a greater overall 'event'.
I'm not sure what to call them. I was reading a blog, glossolalia, where the concert vs show was mentioned.
One commenter stated: "Concert is what people over 60 years old say in reference to live music"
Personally I like 'appearance' as it refers to appear and disappear, which is what Alizee tends to do.
Guess I will take a look at my use of concert in the future.
"Am I a hipster dufus, Jerry?"

No, I am not referring to the the wait for an Alizee appearance. I am referring to the snow in Corsica.
Reading the Ski and Snowboard News at PisteHors.com they make this note: Already 2008/9 has been dubbed “The Winter without end” with the “best snow for 30 years”.
also...Corsica had the best snowfall since the start of records 30 years ago with well above average depths at 1500m. There was over 400cm of cover higher in the mountains. A boost to the island’s tiny ski resorts and a delight for backcountry enthusiasts.
On a separate Ski and Snowboard News post the headlines read "Corsica shatters snow records"
Here they do drop Alizee's name along with a link.
...hmmm how many days to the concert

I almost did a post anticipating Alizee's next log on. With an appearance in Mexico coming up I thought sometime in May 2009 would be most likely.
Well wouldn't you know it, Alizee logs on today.
Her unpredictability is just too fun...don't you think so?

I was wondering if anyone has been submitting items to the Psychedeclips website? I really have not given it too much thought until it hit me today. I decided I should give it a go and see if anything happens. That being said...and based on how business is usually conducted...I do not expect to receive any word in return. (Thank you Einstein) I am OK with that, I understand the rules of the game. The 'merci' you see in the pic is the result of submitting an item. There we go, another game is afoot.
I sometimes feel it is like one huge reality video game and we are all just trying to get to the next level.
I did not see any limitations on what to submit but I tend to think they are looking for submissions regarding Psychedelices. I say be creative, send in what you will. Creativity should not be limited.
I may have missed information regarding this on the forums. The forums are a great resource, a mass of minds collecting and sharing information. They are the Borg Collective of the Alizee Galaxy. All are welcomed, there you can start your service to the Borg Queen, assimilation is accomplished via the registration tab. (someone do a manga parody on this and send it to Alizee) Resistance is futile.
Don't forget, if you have something to submit, do it.
As it states: remix audio clip Alizee song, personal song, artwork and graphics.
I see a lot of graphics and artwork on those forums, submit them! and Lefty...you know what you have to do if you have not already! Come on Lindsey - Hip Hop Violin do an Alizee clip, and all of you that have done some sort of graphic...
Well there we go...

From over in the Shoutbox Vadim asked: "Where to find her creative plans for the future? Concerts or something like that?!"
Well Vadim, that is the question we all ask. It is the Holy Grail of the Alizee Galaxy. There really is no central source for this information. Your best bet to stay aware of what is going on is to peruse the forums, Alizee America, Lilly Town, Alizee Mexico...the forums are full of Knights of Alizee sharing what they know and find.
Alizee has an appearance coming up April 18th in Aguascalientes Mexico. Here is an ad...and frankly I wish they would use more recent pictures. I think it's misleading.
I know that does not answer your question directly Vadim, but it is the best answer for now. I hope that helps.

We have been jumping all over the Alizee Galaxy lately. A post here and there, most just for fun and then me hitching a ride on great reader comments.
I am enjoying logging on and reading the blog comments lately. I just need to open up multiple tabs first. One set on Wikipedia, another on an online dictionary, and one on a search engine. I need to have my references ready for these 'Deep Thought' comments that have me scurrying to keep up.
In referring to Manga and Alizee reader Problematic said "Actually Alizée has been a nearly perfect archetype of the Japanese pop idol since she broke on the scene. A strong connection is natural."
I just loved that "nearly perfect archetype" comment. I am keeping that in the back of my mind for later. Just hope it doesn't get lost back there.
Ruroshen helped us define Manga and Anime. Oh yeah let us not forget Ruro's typing lesson last week for adding accent aigu, hit 'alt 90210' or something like that, dude. Ruro also included Roman from Alizee America for his Alizee translation where Alizee is using the word "informatics"! Now Alizee has me running to the reference tabs!!
I thought a simple trip to the other side the Alizee Galaxy would be nice, just a pic or two of Alizee laying down during a song. But wait! don't shut down those extra tabs yet. Ruro jumps in with "fan service" from the geek world and tells me to look it up. So I put on my glasses with the fake nose and mustache, after all I am going into geek world and there we find it, "fan service".
Ruro then finishes up with a word, well, it looked like a word. A real copy and paster, not one that you want to type on purpose, at least not most of us. For the benefit of our non English readers I want to see if Google or for our purposes here, Deep Thought, can translate that accumulation of letters. Nope, and if Deep Thought can't translate it, it must not be a word but if Ruro wants to use it he can. But the one thing that we can agree on is the number 5060, it is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything!
But what is the question?
See you around the Alizee Galaxy

Alizee and Manga have been mentioned before. I was just reading some posts on Alizee Mexico regarding the JPOP relationship. It was interesting, I never really thought of it that way, not even sure if I can connect those dots but interesting still.
Here is one Q&A from and early interview. It mentions Manga and she even gets a kick out of it.
Q:After Europe, It's countries from Asia which are won over by Alizéemania. What did they find in you?
A:It's a all new adventure! They find that I have a Manga look.. Is it the case? (Enormous laughs .. Alizée is wearing in a total punk look, glamour attitude). At the end of September, I was in Singapore, Taiwan and Honk-Kong. Presently "'ai pas 20 ans" is Number 1 in those countries. But the country where I'm the most famous is Germany. I have a big fan club there, they were here every night in l'Olympia with banners. They have the same age as me, 20's, they are very fanatics : When I go in the German websites, I don't believe it! Because they know more things than me! (Laughs)
And then we have 'Fifty-Sixty' where the Manga is now being included in the video. Because she likes it? For artistic purposes? To create a bigger umbrella of appeal? All of the above?
