Alizée - media identity crisis

I have been really thinking about this subject ever since I read about it in Charts in France. This statement: "unfortunately difficult to identify for the media".

I don't have an identity crisis with Alizée. I am so used to Alizée being Alizée that I just don't think about it. It's soul sister... what's the problem.

I decided I needed and out of body experience and look at it from someone else's view. If you need to classify her and the world does I suppose I can understand where they are coming from. I said understand... not agree.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, acts like a duck, smells like a duck... then its a duck.

Then there is Alizée! She looks classy, elegant, beautiful...

You see "that" and you put that together with the Une Enfant Du Siecle "team"

Wait a second, I see this swan hanging with all these ducks and everyone is confused. Now don't get me wrong. They are an extremely talented bunch, they just are not on the cover of GQ magazine. That's all I am saying. It confuses people. They want to be able to classify people. If Alizée dressed in more of grunge fashion a certain group may accept her more, if the "team" looked more GQ-ish then another group may accept her more. No it's not fair but it's the way of the world.

So, OK... I'll give you a little media confusion. No matter how well Eminem could sing a country and western song it would be hard to accept, especially without changing his look. Perhaps Michael Buble can rap, his look with a classic button down oxford shirt... going to be a tough sell.

But to me it's just Alizée being Alizée.

Coming up soon for soul sister is Muzik'Elles. I wonder what BB Brunes has up their sleeve. I did read Alizée invited by BB Brunes and "going rock". But really... what is the common thread here: BB Brunes, Camellia Jordana, Arielle Dombasle, Emmanuelle Seigner, Diane Birch and Alizée??? It's Serge! What does this mean? I don't know but it's something to look forward to. It sure would be nice if some one or some magazine in the know do a little article on the pieces of this new little puzzle.

Something like.. BB Brunes are you planning to do some sort of Serge tribute? Will it just be fellow Serge admirers supporting each other doing a bit of your own thing? Maybe you could tease us a bit?

Someone, give us a warm up, an introduction, some anticipation, anything... don't let that tree fall in forest with no one around to hear it.

How did I get here from there?
