Alizée also likes football, and is a fan of Zinedine Zidane. She is an ardent supporter of the Ajaccio Football Club, and was once invited to kick off one of their matches. (4/2006 article from Radio Sawt Beirut International)
Who doesn't like Zinedine Zidane.
For those not familiar with Zizou...
(from wikipedia) Zinedine Zidane popularly nicknamed Zizou, is a French professional footballer of Algerian Kabyle Berber descent. A midfielder, he was a member of the French national team that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000, and was also the recipient of the Golden Ball where he captained the French side to the 2006 World Cup final; a match that saw his career end in controversy after he was sent off for headbutting Italy defender Marco Materazzi.
Zidane was also well-known for his short temper on the pitch, as he was sent off fourteen times throughout his career. In addition to his World Cup send-offs in 1998 and 2006, he was red-carded for headbutting Jochen Kientz while playing for Juventus in a 2000-01 Champions League match against Hamburger SV. One of only four players to have been sent off during a World Cup final, Zidane also joined Cameroon's Rigobert Song as the only two players ever to be red-carded during two separate World Cup tournaments.[16] He is also the only player ever to be sent off during extra time of a World Cup final.
Confrontation with Marco Materazzi
As Zidane and Materazzi were jogging up the pitch in close proximity of each other, they briefly exchanged words after Materazzi was seen tugging at Zidane's jersey before Zidane began to walk away from him. Moments later, Zidane suddenly stopped, turned around and rammed his head into Materazzi's chest, knocking him to the ground.
After video evidence suggested that Materazzi had verbally provoked Zidane, British media newspapers claimed to have hired lip readers to determine what Materazzi had said, with The Times claiming that Materazzi called Zidane "the son of a terrorist whore."[20] In his first public comments since the incident, Zidane only partly explained that repeated harsh insults about his mother and sister had caused him to react.[20] Materazzi admitted insulting Zidane, but argued that Zidane's behaviour had been very arrogant and that the remarks were trivial.(wikipedia)

Alizee Tattoo
Just a tidbit of interesting information. Regarding searches that end up at our modest little blog, the most popular search is for Alizee tattoo. I would have never of guessed that and just thought I should share with all of you. Interesting.
Of course I can not let it go just at that.
"Tinkerbell", is a fictional character in J.M. Barrie's play and subsequent novel Peter and Wendy, as well as numerous adaptations including the widely known animated Disney film Peter Pan. Barrie's fairies are dependent on the belief of others to survive. In one famous scene, she is dying, but will survive if enough people believe in fairies. In the play the characters make a plea to the children watching to sustain her by shouting out "I believe in fairies," and clapping, an example of "breaking the fourth wall." In the novel and the 2003 film, Peter calls out to dreaming children within the storytelling universe to believe in her. (from Wikipedia)

New Alizee - The Butterfly Ball
New Alizee video. Singing in English for a television show.
Now some of you may be thinking, what did I just watch? Did it sound a little 70's. This is just too interesting.
Here with a little help from Wikipedia is some information:
The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast is a concept album and subsequent live rock opera appearing in 1974 and 1975 respectively, based on the children's book of the same title (The album cover design is from Alan Aldridge's design for the book).
It was originally conceived as a solo vehicle for Jon Lord and to be produced by Roger Glover, but Lord proved too busy with Deep Purple and Glover took up the reins on his own. Using his connections, Glover recruited a large cast of noted rock musicians to perform on it, with a different vocalist for each track. The single Love is All, with vocals from Ronnie James Dio, charted in the UK. The song has been used recently by the Dutch political party CDA in its election ads for the 2006 Dutch General Election.
On October 16th 1975, a one-off performance at the Royal Albert Hall took place. Again it had a star-studded cast of rock musicians, most notably Ian Gillan who was drafted in at the last minute and received a standing ovation on his entrance. He replaced an unavailable Ronnie James Dio who had commitments with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (although Dio did eventually get to perform the song at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999 as the guest of Deep Purple). Gillan had not performed since leaving Deep Purple in 1973. Also notable was the appearance of Vincent Price as narrator.
But what about the book? The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast. Check it out at Amazon. A children's book by Alan Aldridge. Let source Wikipedia again:
Alan Aldridge is a UK artist, born in 1943. During the 1960s and 1970s he was responsible for a great many album covers, and helped create the graphic style of that era. He designed a series of science fiction book covers for Penguin Books. He made a big impression with his illustrations for the Beatles Illustrated Song lyrics. He also provided illustrations for "The Penguin Book of Comics", a history of British and American comic art. His work was characterized by a flowing, cartoony style and soft airbrushing - very much in step with the psychedelic styles of the times.
He is possibly best known, however, for the picture book The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper Feast (1973)
Now that was interesting. In step with the psychedelic styles of the times, hmmmm, and the newest release is called Psychedelices. Alizee is a new Mom and this is a children's book.
This was just too much fun.

Alizee and "Graines de Star"
In 1999, Alizee appeared on the TV talent show "Graines de Star", broadcast on Métropole 6.[2] She initially intended to sign up for the programme's dance contest. However, the dance category was reserved for groups only. Alizée therefore participated in the singing category instead, performing the song Ma Prière. She went on to win the "Meilleure Graine" award for most promising young singing star of tomorrow.
