I have been reading some feedback regarding videos and quality of videos. Some very good points have been made and I have to agree. I can change my point of view, I am allowed. Really some points have been made and I have given it some thought.
In the past sites such as Youtube did not exist. Camera phones were not in every pocket. I now believe that entertainers need to have a 'Youtube strategy'. Are they going to just let poor videos represent them or will they want to provide their own Youtube video? Whether to do nothing or to provide something is a decision that now needs to be made. This decision did not exist previously.
A television show, a taped event, that video is already going to be provided. But a single artist concert, what are you going to do. You can not stop 5,000 fans from bringing their camera phones and posting non studio quality that may make you look or sound bad on Youtube.(a point by wt in the shout box) New fans maybe turned off (thank you anonymous comment from previous post).
New technology is forcing the hand of the artist to provide something that was not provided for previously. Either a simple free version released or an immediate pay per view version. It could be a simple one camera view but of studio quality. If the artist wants to release a DVD it would be the full version, multi cameras, etc...
Or not, it is something to consider now. It is now a decision. No, nothing is going to be provided, Yes, something official will be released to the internet.
Glad I do not have to figure that one out.

Alizee tour de Mexico
It is now over.
Thanks to all the camera phones out there along with an occasional news feed that enabled us to share in the concerts. Video and audio not the best but it beats nothing in the old days. It gave us an overall feel of the concert and that is what interest me the most. I realize that most of you can not live unless you can see how Alizee did each curl in her hair. The entitlement generation.
In the past Alizee's "En Concert" in Paris was recorded and released on CD and DVD. It was not recorded and released on Youtube for free. Most everything else of Alizee were television shows or an event that was being recorded were Alizee sang one song or maybe two. Usually dressed in one outfit that was meant to go with that one song. To date I only know of one concert recorded, "En Concert", and at least in the beginning you had to buy it. Maybe, and I am talking with no facts, there will be something. But then again, maybe not. Half of the appeal with Alizee is the lack of information. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Alizee, have a nice summer. Hope to catch you on an occasional television appearance.

Alizee the artist vs. entertainer
I have heard Alizee refer to herself as an artist and it made me think of artist vs. entertainer. As the last of the Tour of Mexico winds up tonight I have to say I really liked what I saw. It looked fun. I appreciate the changes and the efforts made to not only have us appreciate Alizee's artistic talents but to entertain us. I can not help but think of Russel Crowe in Gladiator when he turns to the crowd and shouts 'are you not entertained'. We have a tendency to demand to be entertained no matter what it does or requires of the performer.
Artist are a curious group, I am not sure of the long term results if entertainment becomes the only thing we demand of them. Imagine if DaVinci was on tour. Every night the audience would demand he paint the same painting, Mona Lisa, over and over and do it while entertaining us. It may be a bit of an over exaggeration but the point holds true. I think he would stop. He needed to paint, sculpt, write, invent...not just held to one thing that his fans think he should be.
Alizee thank you for entertaining me with your artistic talents on this current Mexican Tour. I enjoy a new song when introduced, Sounds of Silence, and other songs reintroduced as remixes for a new sound.
I have been entertained.

Give a unique some space
When I first saw this picture I laughed! Good for her. Oh the fans that are still hooked on her original image will just die. It rocked some of the forums. Our innocent Lilly.
I have to believe that she is not happy she lost her temper. I was not there and I do not want to say this or that happened. But being a recognized celebrity can be difficult.
Then there is the serious side to this, I have to think Alizee having been the protégé of Mylene Farmer that Mylene taught her the good and bad of being a celebrity from her own experiences. Based on that I can not blame her for her reactions to some of these situations and have to give her some leeway. Not that she needs it from me or anyone one of us

In a post dated 5/5/08 I noted the possibility of Alizee ‘pulling’ a Rimbaud , see article.
For an easy cheesy example rent the movie ‘Eddie and the Cruisers’. It’s a ‘B’ movie and some not great acting, but it is an simple example referencing Rimbaud. It’s from the 80’s and tons of music.
The ends with a song called 'Season in Hell (fire suite)' title taken from Rimbaud writings. Now if you here Alizee ever ending her concert(s) with this song, lookout it may be a hint of things to come.

Alizee Mexico
Today is the first concert in Mexico City. It may take till Wednesday morning to get some clips. I look forward to having more, more sound clips, more footage, maybe even more songs. We do not have an overwhelming number of songs sung by Alizee, so if a new one is thrown in it is just one more to enjoy. Like Madonnas 'Hung Up'. So here we go.
Alizee, again, enjoy yourself, because when you enjoy what you are doing on stage we enjoy watching you no matter what. You are a 'unique'.

I would like to encourage comments from the casual fan. The forums are great but they have some hard core fans, they are impressive, but may intimidate the casual fan. Really, if you just want to say I like that... say it. Or I just found out about Alizee, it's OK.

Tour de Mexico
Well, the Alizee concert tour of Mexico starts in a couple of days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. 4 concerts in 5 days. That is work. Then finish up with a 5th concert on Wednesday.
It is just great to have Alizee back. I know if Alizee can enjoy herself on stage, then we can too. Have fun with it Alizee. Looking forward to all the clips that will be coming in.

Alizee the Shapeshifter
I really was going to try and hold out and not post a video on the Fifty Sixty trilogy and just let everyone visit the video sites. Well, it was a thought. How about that Rubato remix video. There was a small buzz on forum sites as to whether that is Alizee or not. One of my favorite aspects of Alizee is her ability to be a shapeshifter, to have a completely different look. Straight hair, curly hair, little make up, more make up...the ability to at least make you do a double take. So here Alizee makes us crazy again...
Alizee, I know you are sitting in front of a computer somewhere giggling at everyone analyzing this video to death.

When you type in Alizee for a Google Search those same dated pictures show up every time. How can we get Google to update those pictures? I think Google should have more current pictures showing for a more accurate Google Search. I even question the authenticity of one of the pictures. So how do we go about this? Anyone...anyone?

Typecast
With the Mexico City concert just around the corner, what do you expect from this concert?
I expect similar to Moscow. The early Alizee was just and act a performance, it was not her. She became typecast into that image that she was portraying. There were Alizee fans and Alizee image fans. Now, I believe, Alizee is trying to swing that pendulum back to a more normal or real image with emphasis on her singing. The hair, the clothes the less dancing then before may even be an over emphasis to shed that typecast and the old 'image fans'.
But that is just what I think, what do you think?
