Movies include: 'Walk the Line', 'Gladiator', 'Signs'...
Announced he is finished with films, retiring from movies.
You may or may not care or even like him.
But I am sure he had fans...maybe even a fan club...and now...
Alizee fans can relate.
They are allowed to do what they want to do.
Even if we think it's a mistake!

I wonder if fans that liked him will now not like him, or maybe they will just miss him and wish him well?

It's not like he's going into seclusion like J.D. Salinger, just transitioning into a music career. Given his amazing vocals on the Walk the Line soundtrack, I suspect he'll be very successful...in which case he'll still be very much a public figure.
If Alizée wanted to do something similar...say, go the other way and transition from music into acting...I think I could live with it. ;)
