Alizée - Karma Kameleon
Alizée - Karma Kameleon
"I'm a man who doesn't know
How to sell a contridiction
You come and go, you come and go"
I had hoped to continue the map at the top of the blog but it looks like we ran out of things to put on it.
There sure a lot of suggestions out there... from duets to Eurovision. I got out of the suggestion business a while back.
So, we have again hit one of these times which I just call Alizée being Alizée. Just accept it and enjoy whatever comes our way. Que Sera, Sera and be glad I didn't play Doris Day singing that song.
This is all part of the package we call Alizée. It's part of her uniqueness, it's part of her... charm.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Accept the things you cannot change...
Alizee Nation being Alizee Nation
it's an agreement we have

8 out of 10...
8 out of 10...dentist recommend...just kidding
I thought I would poke my nose into Twitter Search and see what was up with Muzik'Elles. What did I find? 8 out of the last 10 tweets were Alizée.
Does that fascinate you as much as it fascinates me? It's not like there is this big momentum push, this media wave driving this. Alizée has not tweeted since July. She was on TV in August that had little publicity and was not mentioned by her Twitter, blog or smoke signals. Tel Aviv in July was mostly obscure... and here we are with 8 out of the last 10 tweets.
So what is it?
Alizée fans are:
Loyal?
Dedicated?
Obsessed?
Have no life?
Twitterholics and internet junkies?
All of the above?
But wouldn't the other artists have a similar group of fans doing similar things? If so where are they? I understand an artist that is running white hot has a lot going on, but keeping in mind the activity level of Alizée as compared to other artist at the same activity level, it just does not compare.
So here I am just doing my part in this whole thing, keep the faith.

Andanowski interview - Circulo Mixup
Andanowski interview - From Circulo Mixup
Adanowsky still lonely Click for article
From the article:
Record these songs in Spanish and then in English. What about your native language?
I'm not recording in French, because he stays in France French. And I want to travel, I prefer to play in Colombia, Cuba, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, to go to play in the province of France.
Well, Alizee, with whom he worked recently, sings in French and not stay in France.
But Alizee is another style of music has nothing to do with what I do. Others French Citame singing in French, apart from Manu Chao, because he sings in Spanish too. There is no other. Alizee What is a miracle. Do not hit here as singing in French, is so rare.
Because exploiting other attributes.
Yes, it was sexy and all that. I met her at Rob. It was he who told me: "Why do not you give a song in Spanish to Alizee? I thought "Did I do or not?" But I remembered Gainsbourg, who wrote for many singers, and I said "If he did, why not me?" So wrote the song and recorded it, it was very nice. Well, that's another story.
Do you enjoy writing for others?
Yes, I like a lot. I have to get my life too (laughs). If I could, I would write for anybody.

The other day I was just commenting on how I liked one of Jo Jacotey's photos of spices in bags, they have a similar one in this issue. What is it with spices in these little burlap bags in Corsica? Still need to get that Jo photo.
I am not going to reprint it here but, you can have it sent to your email here

Alizée - media identity crisis
I have been really thinking about this subject ever since I read about it in Charts in France. This statement: "unfortunately difficult to identify for the media".
I don't have an identity crisis with Alizée. I am so used to Alizée being Alizée that I just don't think about it. It's soul sister... what's the problem.
I decided I needed and out of body experience and look at it from someone else's view. If you need to classify her and the world does I suppose I can understand where they are coming from. I said understand... not agree.
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, acts like a duck, smells like a duck... then its a duck.
Then there is Alizée! She looks classy, elegant, beautiful...
You see "that" and you put that together with the Une Enfant Du Siecle "team"
Wait a second, I see this swan hanging with all these ducks and everyone is confused. Now don't get me wrong. They are an extremely talented bunch, they just are not on the cover of GQ magazine. That's all I am saying. It confuses people. They want to be able to classify people. If Alizée dressed in more of grunge fashion a certain group may accept her more, if the "team" looked more GQ-ish then another group may accept her more. No it's not fair but it's the way of the world.
So, OK... I'll give you a little media confusion. No matter how well Eminem could sing a country and western song it would be hard to accept, especially without changing his look. Perhaps Michael Buble can rap, his look with a classic button down oxford shirt... going to be a tough sell.
But to me it's just Alizée being Alizée.
Coming up soon for soul sister is Muzik'Elles. I wonder what BB Brunes has up their sleeve. I did read Alizée invited by BB Brunes and "going rock". But really... what is the common thread here: BB Brunes, Camellia Jordana, Arielle Dombasle, Emmanuelle Seigner, Diane Birch and Alizée??? It's Serge! What does this mean? I don't know but it's something to look forward to. It sure would be nice if some one or some magazine in the know do a little article on the pieces of this new little puzzle.
Something like.. BB Brunes are you planning to do some sort of Serge tribute? Will it just be fellow Serge admirers supporting each other doing a bit of your own thing? Maybe you could tease us a bit?
Someone, give us a warm up, an introduction, some anticipation, anything... don't let that tree fall in forest with no one around to hear it.
How did I get here from there?

Alizée... in the wild
Just doing some organizing of files... and of course this Alizée file always slows me down. I just have to look at pics. I have always felt that no matter how wonderful the posed photos are, there is just something special about the regular pics, the ones where it's just Alizée in the wild or Alizée in her natural habitat.
Recently this is one of my favs... just caught shopping...
Occasionally we catch her with a ribbon or flower....hmmm, left side...
That's about it, me enjoying the rare in the wild pics...
But speaking of photos, Jo Jacotey mentioned something about starting up a website again for his photos... this is what I see currently, click here
I hope he posts some of his older work. There is one I have always thought I wanted to utilize. Now I don't have photos hanging up at all. I do have prints... you know, the standard... Van Gogh Cafe at Night .... But in my kitchen I think it would be cool to have a Jo photo. Does anyone recall the one of the multiple open bags of spices? I really liked that and think it would be cool in the kitchen area. Any who... let's see what develops...

Google Instant and Civilization
Google Instant and Civilization
"As someone has said, civilization advances mainly by conquering time. Everything that permits man to do in five minutes what previously took him an hour, is a great boost forward for civilization. It enables him to live more than the lifetime of earlier men, because he makes more contacts, accomplishes more work, adds more stimulation and interests to his life, increases his comforts and satisfactions, speeds up his aims and multiplies his abilities."
Pertinent stuff... it is the first paragraph from the book "How to get More Business by Telephone" by Jack Schwartz. Published 1953, and he was referring to the telephone!
"Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose." - Alphonse Karr 1808-1890

Following Alizée
Following Alizée in the "old" days was simple. Her name was unique and rare. What has happened? There are Alizée's everywhere. Skiing, swimming, surfing, tennis, models... and yes the occasional description of a Mediterranean breeze.
Items catch my eye and most cases are referring to one of the "other" Alizée's. I long for the good ole days...
OH! and the fake accounts... frustrating does not even describe it.
And we have the ones using her name in some form as a compliment, facebook for instance. I have more Jacotey's following me then Jo taking a family portrait at a Jacotey family reunion!
Today I thought I would share one. I give you the pieces of the puzzle and you work on it. Don't worry, I'll pay you the same wages I receive. So here we go, let's see, where should I start...
Here is an site. IDEN... in French... (click on pics to enlarge)
It's about "Excuse my French" on September 24th, don't forget to check the year...oh good 2010. It's about music, it mentions DJ Karve... let's find out more about this DJ Karve...
Well here is a MySpace for DJ Karve. A DJ out of Paris. It's not a surfer or a swimmer, so far so good. Scrolling down I see a friend? Melle Alizee ? Now what is this??? Melle Alizee MySpace??
So where are we...
IDEN has a post
an event called excuse my French
the name Alizée is mentioned
the name DJ Karve is prominent
DJ Kruze has a MySpace where this Melle Alizee MySpace is a friend
What of this Melle Alizee Myspace... its private
As compared to...
Without real information this is what you have to "cut" through... what's real, what's fake, what misinformation, what's going on...
Is it just a comparison to Alizée? Is DJ Karve just friends with a fake MySpace? Does DJ Kruze remix Alizée?
I will leave it there, just having some fun with you... what else is there to do?

BB Brunes Lalalove You
BB Brunes
Since we are 3 weeks away from Muzik'Elles lets take a look at BB Brunes
Wikipedia: A French pop rock band, part of the "new French rock scene" (la nouvelle scène rock française)
Now I have been referring to Alizée and associates as Le Nouveau Rive Gauche and I should have been calling it the New French Rock Scene.
The band took the name BB Brunes, which comes from a song by Serge Gainsbourg, Initials BB and from Paris's boulevard Brune, where the band was[3]. The band's musical influences are punk and rock groups from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as current groups such as The Strokes, Amy Winehouse, Paul Bul, The Clash, David Bowie, Ray Charles and singers like Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Dutronc[2], etc. They write mostly in French.
Ahhh, a Serge Gainsbourg connection, nice.
They can be found around the web:
MySpace
Website
Twitter (I hope it is official)

some "A Coeur Fendre"
For asking the question what pic and getting the blog out of self imposed double secret probation... we will share his latest creation. An autobiographical video.
Great stuff... @mellealizee pay attention around 3:20 into it....
That was fun, yeah a flatlander from Florida... I guess we can pretend they are waves... just kidding. Poor guy is probably an Orlando Magic fan too so cut him a break.
Did you take "your" skateboard to South Korea? The reason I ask... lets just say I was responsible for a skateboard and ended up taking it on the plane as a carry on. I put it in the overhead bin. When we arrived some lady jumped up (as they always do) and grabbed her case, yanked it out, not looking... and along came the skateboard and hit her on the head. I was detained by police... nothing happened but do you think I would have been detained if it was my carry on luggage that fell out on her head? Sorry just another of my many stories...
Great stuff, nice use of "A coeur fendre" don't you think so Alizée?
Just think, we are going to get to say: "We knew him when..."
Kudos

Odd Facts - Alizee Nation Blog...continued
Whew, I was not going to post again until someone asked for the answer to the previous post. I was prepared to hold out through the winter... I would have done it too!
But saving the day (or perhaps ruining it for some) was our skateboarding friend.
So, a picture or photo of Alizée was not the most downloaded picture from this blog. Of course second place and on goes to Alizée... starting with those "feet" pictures to all you feet freaks out there. You really need to get help.
But the one that just blew up, had a mini viral moment... was that little picture of Serge Gainsbourg in the newspaper... believe it or not
and now you know the rest of the story...
