Reference an article out of Mexico.
It references many entertainers and their thoughts on the Olympics. Fourth paragraph from the end.
He comes to all "I'm fanatic of sports, and I see in these Olympic soccer, gymnastics and athletics, which I believe are the most popular in the Games. People who will compete is a great example of discipline, strength, spirit. " Alizée, Singer
By the way, Argentina won the Gold Medal in Football, 1-0 over Nigeria. Goal by Ángel Di María
I waited until after the Olympics to post. Do not need anyone looking for her just in case she did make the trip. Not as timely for the blog, but it was the right thing to do.
Speaking of sports fanatics, did you see the Los Angeles Lakers signed the 'Chinese Magic Johnson'.

Coldplay vs. Alizee and the world
The Coldplay situation does not want to go away. The first I ever heard of their song similarities was with Alizee singing J'en Ai Marre. That appears to have opened Pandora's box. If you are curious for more here is an article that leads to more controversy.
The Alizee, J'en Ai Marre comparison:
And then there is this, Coldplay vs. everyone
Includes Joe Satriani, Kraftwerk and more.

The neo counter just reached 101 countries that visited this little Alizee based blog. It may or may not be that accurate, I noticed 'Europe' was listed as a country. So, I waited for number 101. Thank you all and thank you Uraguay for being number 101.

Alizee American Invitation
An historic night in America
Barack Obama was there
Sheryl Crow was there
Stevie Wonder was there
The people were there
Times Square, New York City, watched
The people cheered
Alizee, there is not a better time to extend an official invitation to bring your talent to America. Come witness history. America is ready for change.
Where: Cities of your choice
When: At your convenience
A good time to be had by all!!!
Can't say no one ever officially invited you.

Alizee, what about Coachella
Currently there is only one confirmed European concert...that I know of.
I do not know why, but why would I?
Maybe that has changed. I do not purport to be the first to carry news, only comment on it.
So, what of this concert at the Grand Rex that is 9 weeks away. It should be wonderful. Alizee's concert presentation changed from Moscow to Mexico and it will be interesting to see how and if it 'morphs' going into Europe.
What of the concerts that are no longer confirmed. I refuse to comment.
But I will now comment on my refuse to comment. Speculation is a problem in the entertainment industry. If facts or information are not there, people make them up or speculate. Speculation turns into a rumor and there we go. Speculation can be anything, it is best if you provide the explaination. Now, you do not have to, yes you are right. It does not always help being right. Driving, if you have the right of way and someone runs through a stop sign and kills you...you were right, dead right. It does not always pay to be right. Ahhh... But I was four-and-twenty,
No use to talk to me. (borrowed from A.E. Housman)
I will still suggest Coachella Fest as an interesting place to perform. In the past performers such as Bjork, Daft Punk and Yelle enjoyed success. Check out my May 22, 2008 post.

The World is Flat
So how do we market this product Alizee.
We will use the controversial book "The World is Flat" by Thomas L. Freidman. (wikipedia) He suggests the world is "flat" in the sense that globalization has leveled the competitive playing fields between industrial and emerging market countries. Technology has helped flatten or level the playing fields.
To market Alizee we create an 'online Alizee' a virtual Alizee. Decisions on technology need to made. What is to be used, Youtube, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, website. The key here is to focus on which technology is to be used. The shotgun effect waste time and energy, no one knows where to find information. Focus
Live appearances, concerts, television, radio all enhance the virtual Alizee, not the other way around. The virtual Alizee works 24-7, The real Alizee then can work around a personal life. But during the personal life breaks the virtual Alizee needs to be supported by quality releases of previous recorded concerts and appearances.
Concerts, not all but a select few, could be offered as a pay per view live stream, so that the newly flattened world could partake. Later versions of live songs to be released to feed the virtual Alizee, possible high quality.
Let's use technology to take advantage of the power of duplication. A live play can only entertain one audience at a time, a movie can entertain 2,000 audience's at a time. Flat earth tech can pull the world of Alizee together.
The virtual Alizee...If Gorillaz can be a complete virtual band, Alizee can have a virtual side.
Here is a virtual band live in concert.
Yes yes Alizee I know you like 'Dare', but I like 'Feel Good, Inc'
Or maybe you prefer the "live" performance at the Grammys with Madonna singing Hung Up.
Enough of insights and opinions.
To my email friends, no I do not get paid...but...Wisteria Song...you have my email.

The Tipping Point
How to start an epidemic? A sociological epidemic.
An Alizee epidemic America.
The book 'The Tipping Point' by Malcolm Gladwell describes the "three rules of epidemics" (or "agents of change").
* The Law of the Few: That would be the Alizee forums, LTNY and Op Drop
* Connectors are the people who "link us up with the world ... people with a special gift for bringing the world together.
* Mavens are "information specialists", or "people we rely upon to connect us with new information."
* Salesmen are "persuaders"
A few handing out CD's, posters and information about Alizee.
* The Stickiness Factor: the specific content of a message that makes it memorable and have impact. Truthfully, at the beginning of Alizee's career the memorable message was her...videos. If you know Alizee, you know the goldfish.
* The Power of Context: Human behavior is sensitive to and strongly influenced by its environment. As Gladwell says, "Epidemics are sensitive to the conditions and circumstances of the times and places in which they occur." What? Let's put it this way, Alizee could possibly benefit from the Obama effect. Barack Obama is popular in Europe and conversely could open a window of opportunity for a particular French female singer to enjoy more acceptance then in previous years. This maybe the time and the place.
(Thanks to wikipedia)
Can Alizee be pushed past the tipping point in America?
Can it be accomplished without her?
Does she want it?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Crossing the Chasm
"Crossing the Chasm" is a book written by Geoffrey A. Moore. It is described on the book cover as "Marketing and Selling Technology Products to Mainstream Customers".
Our product that we will use, again, is Alizee.
As Moore describes in his book the introduction and use of a new technology product follows the classic bell curve.
The conversion works like this. In the beginning, the innovators represent the forum groups. Next are the early adapters, new people discovering Alizee. That is about where we are at right now. Notice the big gap between the early adapters and the early majority. That is a tough gap (the chasm) to jump and that if Wisteria Song wants to jump that, that is what they must be thinking about right now!
The first two groups can live with points that adapters currently look at as drawbacks, not understanding the song, not readily available...The first two groups welcome the change and enjoy it, may even speak and understand French.
From page 21 of the book:"they are prepared to champion the cause against entrenched resistance"
"By contrast, the early majority want to buy a productivity improvement" They want to enhance their music listening experience not overturn it. Possibly certain song phrases will need to be promoted, J'em ai marre, I'm fed up. C'est pas ma faute, It's not my fault, maybe an alternative to the trendy mia culpa. You get the idea.
Again from page 21 Moore states "They are looking to minimize the discontinuity with the old ways. They want evolution not revolution."
As Alizee said in an interview regarding the new direction: "I didn't change my world, nor my look, its an evolution, not a revolution"
Wisteria Song, I was paying attention, are you?

Is Alizee Mainstream
Well, that depends on where you live. We are going to start looking at Alizee as a product, so this is for you Wisteria Song staff.
If you live in France, Belgium, Mexico and others, Alizee is mainstream. Moi...Lolita was #1 in 5 countries and #2 in 4 countries at it's peak.
In America, Alizee has basically a cult following. These followings are often dedicated people of similar interest and are familiar with each another due to concerts, message boards, Internet chat rooms or word of mouth.(sound familiar) These dedicated followings are usually relatively small and pertain to items that don't have broad mainstream appeal. (wikipedia)
So, where does it go from here for America? That is the question. With that question comes another, does Wisteria Song want to even promote the product Alizee in America? Just because you think this should be done does not mean it fits into the personal plans of Alizee. Johnny Hallyday has had a very successful career without ever 'cracking' the American market. Does Alizee want to 'crack' the American market or maybe just some concerts for loyal fans. There are no rights or wrongs here, just personal preferences, but it is fun to follow.

Alizee Fans
Alizee fans have birthday wishes all over the web.
It is such an interesting phenomena, Alizee and her Fans.
So many fan based websites, ever check out the skyrock side of things, whew.
Forums, active forums at that.
And what is with all the fan created videos?
Camera phone videos all over the place. Is it because there are limited official videos out there? Maybe.
Alizee, Wisteria Song or whomever has allowed A LOT of creativity.
Even fan driven publicity campaigns! LTNY Disque Drop
'whisper' I I don't think they know they are not normal like us, but let's just keep it quite for now
All this even with taking off for 3 years.
It is all so interesting and fun to follow. What will happen next? There is no clue, no inside sources, no Alizee 'camp'.
What about product lines? It seems so easy to us. Shirts, mugs, those Nike's? Gwen Stefani has a clothing line. Oh by the way, news reports, unconfirmed, say that Gwen Stefani has gone to the hospital today to give birth to her second child. Born on Alizee's birthday! Possibly!
Whew, Alizee you have a lot of reading to catch up on when you get back.

History and Alizee
"Dominique" is a popular song in French by Soeur Sourire, the Singing Nun from Belgium, about Saint Dominic. A remarkable fact is that the song reached and stayed at #1 on both the U.S. pop chart and "easy listening chart" (since renamed the Adult Contemporary chart) for four weeks in December of 1963. (Wikipedia)
So, Alizee, you can not be the first, that road has already been paved. I guess you will have to be the best. Well, that is, if you, well, if you think you can do it. Here is what wikipedia has to say about French Pop Music.
Radio stations in France are required to play at least 40% of their songs in French, during prime hours. France's Pelchat amendment to the 1994 Broadcasting Reform Act is the law which requires this.
There are studies which correlate radio station play-time with album sales. And that seems to have been one of the motivations to pass this law, for the benefit of protecting the French music industry and their sales of French pop music. Without this law, Anglo-American music (songs in English) would have surely overshadowed French pop music. (wikipedia)
Wow!!!!! That is quite a statement. What say you La fille de Corse? Just in case you needed any motivation.

Imagine my confusion early this morning. A blog comment takes me to a website that almost freaked me out. Not yet through my first cup of coffee, I am totally confused looking at this blog. What am I looking at??? Did I end up back on this blog by accident??? Alizee, what is going on? Wait, no, it is a new blog, with new ideas. Ha! It just looks like this one. That's OK, go for it! Bigfoot Hoax
It appears the Bigfoot discovery is a hoax. The good news is Alizee is back in the running for first to make an appearance since the summer solstice (northern hemisphere) 2008. Note: UFO contact qualification is for "world" contact, not your own personal experience. Geeeez...

Big Foot Found!
It's been a lonely summer. Summer solstice marked the absence of Alizee and I was wondering who or what might appear first, UFO contact, Alizee or Bigfoot. I thought maybe some calculations at Stonehedge might be required. With a birthday coming up maybe Alizee had the edge. But no, Bigfoot steps up big. Now of course the winner will have to be confirmed. There will be a press conference in California on Friday and be anxious to verify and crown the winner.
For those of you that came here looking for Bigfoot, here is the story from CNN CNN) -- A policeman and a former corrections officer say that on Friday, they will unveil evidence of what they claim is their biggest capture ever: the body of Bigfoot. Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature's body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive.
The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery in order to protect the remaining creatures.
Bigfoot enthusiast feel free to check out Alizee.
Alizee enthusiast check out the Bigfoot.
And come on Alizee, let's shoot for second place!!!!
I know you can appear before UFO contact.

Swiffer to Alizee
Oh man, this is going to be a tough one.
You know, a swiffer, one of those floor cleaning devices to use in lieu of a mop. I am sure you must have seen them on TV. I would like to think you may actually use one or something like it.
Anywho,
You missed your BIG chance. But that is no reason to not do something.
Swiffer had a constest, ended in 2/2008
You could make your own Swiffer commercial. Check it out. You do have to use their song but it was worth $15,000.
Well thats over, But...I sure would like to see some Alizee swiffer vids on YouTube.
My favorite swiffer song is Lilly Town, then Decollage. I can get the floors done under 10 minutes with those songs blasting on cleaning day. Oh yeah guys, ya have to have a cleaning day for this to work.
We may not want to see you on the video but maybe you could get...er..uh..uh...your Mom. I was going to say girlfriend but I did see some of your pics on the forums and well...er...I am sure you all have nice personalities.
Settle down, if you are not sitting there laughing along with Alizee and I, well then you are taking yourself a little too serious.
But what you do all have is talent. Do something, make it go viral on YouTube.
Just have to do it a little different from what we normally see. Instead of Alizee pictures to someone else's music it will be some swiffering to Alizee music.

Wheres Waldo
Except this is Where's Alizee
Really, where is Alizee. In the studio? At the beach? Planning the USA concert? In China watching the Olympics? Driving around that crazy circle in Ajaccio? In a candy shop? The Alizee hot line is ringing, hello, oh OK, it's personal and private time and the answer is... none of my business!
Hey, speaking of lack of information on MySpace, well I was at least thinking it. I ran across this and I thought it was interesting.
You remember Shenna Easton, hits in 1984, oh yeah most of you were not born, I forgot. Yes Alizee I know that's the year you were born. What? Yes we know you have a birthday coming up. Geez Alizee let me get back on track, and no I don't know what Jeremy got you, I thought you were supposed to be shy. Anyway, Shenna has a website, www.sheenaeaston.com and on her website it states right out "JUST AN FYI Sheena does not participate on myspace".
WOW, I like that! Nicely done Sheena. No trying to keep up several sites, no messing around with the friends and the whole mess. It is set up to send in questions, and it states no personal questions. I realize Sheena is not on the leading edge but I do like the candor and the simplicity. It could be a format to work with. If I may be so bold to say so.
What was that Alizee, why was I looking up Sheena...none of your business.
Amitiés :)

Music Therapy, or is it?
Music therapy is known to have healing and relaxing effects.
Music can change body chemistry has been confirmed by a University of Miami School of Medicine study of a group of Alzheimer’s patients. The researchers found higher melatonin levels in the patients’ blood after they had had a 30- to 40-minute morning session of singing and other music therapy 5 times a week for a month. Healthbody86’s Weblog
For the first time, a major research effort has not only demonstrated a link between music and wellness, but has quantified it. A study led by Dr. Frederick Tims of Michigan State University and published in the November 1999 issue of Alternative Therapies showed that patients with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) who underwent four weeks of structured music therapy showed significant increases in their level of melatonin, a neurohormone linked with sleep regulation and believed to influence the immune system.
The study also noted changes in other brain chemicals such as prolactin, serotonin, norepinephrine and epinephrine. (American Musical Conference) Good article.
Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally in the pineal gland at the base of the brain. It is important in regulating sleep, and may play a role in maintaining circadian rhythm, the body's natural time clock.
Changes in the serotonin levels in the brain can alter mood!
Then there was the case of a woman who was affected by the sound of another persons voice. Unfortunately this one was affected in a negative way, but affected by another persons voice she was.
A neurologist reports in a medical journal that a woman got epileptic seizures by hearing the voice of Mary Hart, a host of the syndicated television program "Entertainment Tonight."
Dr. Marc Dichter of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, an expert on epilepsy, said of the seizures, "It's the pitch and quality of the voice as a sound." (New York Times)
That's Alizee's hold on me. I am being manipulated!
I am getting addicted on my own melatonin and serotonin. A devious plot.
I would love to see an analysis of Alizee's voice. Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
