Forums are alive and well out there and I am going to do a round up on all the forums.
What gives each their appeal? Language? Region? Country? Easier to use?
Alizee Forum, Alizee France, Alizee America, Alizee World, Alilatino, Alizee Community, Alizee Peru................
to name a few off the top of my head...whew!
Do they compete with each other, do they compliment each other? Perhaps I will just stay away from that aspect and just do my best to round up the information and present it in a near future post.

May I suggest something Alizée?
Let's talk about your social presence. Yes I see you playing around on Facebook and often too if I may say. But your overall fan sites is where I am going. You have your facebook, website, tumblr, twitter, myspace, youtube and your Alizee Store.
Let's start with your website... It's static... just sitting there...can I hear an echo?
Tumbler, twitter... I know, I know it's all a pain in the ass. All the while we scour each site for updates and changes... talking to the hardest working man in South Africa, Alizee South Africa, have I noticed no Institube links....hmmmmm
The hard part of all of this is that you Alizée have to do all the work. The beauty of Facebook is that Mark Zuckenberg does not have to do all the work, the users do. If you don't do all the work it just sits there empty.
So what do "we" do. Here is a good example, this one is called Ning.
Here we can take a look at how the "Plain White T's" used Ning.

Wondering about the busisness side
Wondering about the bussiness side...
I was going to call it questions but they really are not questions...just me wondering.
When I say business I am referring to the business side of the Alizée entertainment complex. Not financial investments.
These "wonderings" are made up, fictional, a figment of my imagination along with the word "wonderings".
Now that the ground work is laid lets start this fantasy trip. How did these wonderings occur to me? At the end of the movie "The Social Network" I was reading all the settlements between Mark Zukerberg and everyone else and started wondering...
This Mylene and Alizée relationship. Have you ever seen a relationship end so quietly? Well except for Mark Zukerberg and Eduardo Saverin and their Facebook settlement... oh but wait, that was because of a non disclosure agreement.
I was wondering if Mylene and Alizée have a non disclosure agreement or is it that they really do not have anything to say... out of courtesy?
IF there was an agreement...
I was wondering when would it have occured? Somewhere between 2004 and 2007 I guess
There are certain songs that I have not heard Alizée sing the same way as she did pre 2004. One that sounds the same(ish) is Moi Lolita and one that does not is J'en Ai Marre.
I was wondering if there was an agreement, would it require that certain songs would have to be changed. Moi Lolita is Alizée's signature song and that would be able to be used but for example the 2nd most famous is J'en ai marre would have to be changed. All part of my fantasy non disclosure and monetary agreement. Seriously have you ever wondered why?
I was wondering if certain people could not be "worked with" for a certain amount of time. After an agreement was reached Eduardo did get his name back on as a Facebook founder.
I was wondering if there were such a fantasy agreement it could not be forever, so how long would it last? Perhaps till late 2012??? Perchance a "homecoming" of sorts?(mais pas avec Mylène Farmer)(but not with Mylène Farmer)as stated by nidalizee. But some type of homecoming of sorts then.
So how much did Eduardo Saverin get and where in the world is he? That's like asking where is Alizée and let's interview Alizée and Mylene.
Alizée will be 28 in late 2012. What will this homecoming mean and...what's the story behind it...

Some thoughts and David Guetta
Yesterday I caught a short interview with David Guetta. It was at the Superbowl and some quick questions fired at him from Sirius Hits 1 then played on the Morning Mashup show.
They asked David about being married, having two children and being on the road.
He said he tries not be away from them for more then two weeks. He was at the Superbown then headed to Los Angeles, there is family will join him for 20 days.
Asked about what his children think of his superstar status. He said the youngest is too young, his son does not like that "his job" takes him away and is annoyed by people coming up to them all the time when they are out.
He was very practical and aware of the situation. He seemed to take a no nonsense attitude of working out solutions.
It was just a sound byte type of interview but very interesting. I would have enjoyed hearing more, especially about the years of "creating" a family and how things went then. It's a little different for the male then the female, a little more time off is... needed.

Alizee Store and the shirts...
So @mellealizee I just have to ask, what's with the shirts?
There are female shirts and unisex shirts.
First... I would think most of your fans and shirt wearing fans are males. Male shirts please.
Second... Somehow I always thought there were male and unisex not female and unisex. But I could see that you would want a more female style shirt for the females.
The real deal is that I am just not used to seeing and buying shirts that are labeled unisex. I bet anyone in the US that bought one did a double take to make sure they were ordering the correct shirt. It's really no big deal, just stood out to me and of course I had 20 minutes to kill
Third... a heavy duty cotton one would be awesome.
It is kind of along the lines of the this beer commercial...

The first is a rhetorical question for the fans.

Here it is. When given a choice of which version of Moi... Lolita you will listen to, which version would you choose and in what priority would it be? It is AUDIO only, no video version. Ahhh, that could be a difference maker.

Drop the Une
Une Enfant du Siecle has been on my mind. Today La Roux went on a little Twitter rant and so why not me...
Une Enfant du Siecle WAS something different. You can not accuse Alizée of not trying something new, not trying to give us a different sound. There is nothing wrong with this, as a matter of fact it should be admired.
Let's take a look at this from another angle. Les Collines has over 1 million YouTube views. Hold that thought.
Remember prior to the release we were getting the album tracks along with who wrote what and who produced what... Now when I hear things like the album has not been as successful as we liked the only name I hear is Alizée. Please don't take that the wrong way, and Alizée would NEVER say anything like that. (One of the most stand up people I have seen)
So let's talk about Les Collines. It is performed by Chateau Marmont. A quick glance of YouTube Chateau Marmont songs I see Beagle has 34,000 views, now a million plus have listened to them, up 966,000.
I read 30,000 albums of UEDS were sold. Take that entire collaboration of writers, producers, etc... and eliminate Alizée from it for right now and could you say that may have been their most successful venture to date?
From that perspective things seem more positive. It was different, it was a chance, it was working with new people and it all depends on how you look at things.
I would really like to see something more attempted by this group, but... it's been a while now and longer it is the less likely something would happen.
So what's with the Drop the Une? It's my "The Social Network" tweak for success. In the movie, Sean Parker who co-founded Napster and was played by Justin Timberlake, advises Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin during their first dinner meeting to drop the word “the” in the company’s name and web address, as in The Facebook and TheFaceBook.com.
Drop the Une... and have Enfant du Siecle :)

It's getting pretty exciting again. As you know we are never "overdosed" with Alizée so it does not take much to have us dancing in the streets.
Whoa! Hold on a minute, before you take to the streets I want to help you "guys" out before you embarrass yourselves.

I love the new stuff... the scarf, the shirt. Not because I have to have it but because we are a "WITNESS" to new territories...
Could this be the start to a fashion line? It does not matter, it's just Alizée being creative, not being afraid to fail, critics be damn, full speed ahead.
I don't look at it as merchandise as much as I look at it as artistic creativity or perhaps business creativity also... even better.

Music Industry and Piracy
Piracy and the music industry. I read about it almost every day and I think it is misunderstood. I am not saying it's correct or OK, I am saying it's misidentified.
So now let's establish a few random thoughts to help identify the problem.
First
It's easy. There is a lot of digital out there, movies, books, etc... Movies threaten you at the beginning, do not copy. Books... is anyone stealing Kindle digital books? But music, videos don't threaten us and software seems to pop up every other day to make it easier to download music for free.
Second
Do we care? As in sports when there is a labor dispute, we don't care as long as it does not disrupt our entertainment. It's billionaires arguing with millionaires, that is how the general public views it. The same goes for the music industry. It may not be accurate but we tend to view it as billionaire record companies and millionaire performers. We follow performers traveling the globe, partaking in conspicuous consumption while most are just trying to survive the great recession. That view lends to apathy about the problem.
Third
The performers themselves... New performers just want their stuff to be heard, then when established... not so much. It's the nature of the business but a mixed message.
Fourth
This is the most important of them all. "Pirates"
What is a pirate? Like Blackbeard. What did he do? He stole, and then what did he do with this booty? Share it? No, he kept it for himself. Today Hyperbot had an article on Piracy and had a picture of 3 Pirates.
Now since we already have established that the perception is that the performers and the music industry are rich... and we know this so called pirate does not keep this download for himself but then shares it via a file sharing platform....
So... who stole from the rich and gave to the poor??? No not Blackbeard... or any other pirate... it was Robin Hood!
It's Robin Hood you are dealing with. Dealing with Robin Hood is a lot different then dealing with a pirate. The person being stolen from feels the same but you have to go a little further into the process.
Now we developed a profile of this problem and of the people.
Instead of building your walls thicker and higher it would be clever if these Robin Hoods could be incorporated into the solution.
One thought... if there was a MLM, multi level marketing system for the Robin Hoods to help distribute the product and earn money doing it, would that help?
It would be interesting to see what would happen to those that did not participate and still continued on stealing the product and redistribute it for free. The newly incorporated Robin Hoods are now the ones being stolen from too and they themselves would be the advocates of chasing them and shutting them done. Make the problem part of the solution.
Just a wild thought I had, but still... they are Robin Hoods.
Would you do it...
Let's face it, iTunes does not distribute for free. A controlled platform that the artist can control and allows fans to join and earn money redistributing your product. If you as an artist are part of the long tail... can it hurt distribution? If you are a top 20...maybe not for them.
I have not worked out these numbers, it's just an example.
An artist experiments with one song. Normally on iTunes for 99 cents
(using USD in my example)
and free everywhere else by the Robin Hoods.
But now you can sign up and redistribute through this new MLM media, let's say it cost $5.99 for the digital version of the song and the rights to redistribute though this MLM program. People can buy for $1.99 or become a distributor die $5.99 through you. You make...say $1.00 for everyone that buys or becomes a distributor. Would you do it?
And if that song appears somewhere for free... I would do everything in my power to shut it down along with everyone else that became a distributor...
I know there are a million ways it will not work, think outside the box and come up with a way it will work and perhaps you will be the next big thing.

Alizée, Alizée everywhere...
This is just getting harder and harder...
Alizée information used to be easy, lets face it, how many Alizée's were there?
But now... how did this name become so popular?
Some of the main distractions have been...
Alizee Guinochet... getting engaged to David Blaine, getting married to David Blaine, getting pregnant with David Blaine, having a baby with David Blaine... we get it already, we know how it works and kudos to their PR manager.
Alizee Arnaud just won the junior women's world surfing champion. Someone from France just won a surfing contest... I don't even know what to think about that. Are there waves in France? Will Paris now start making surfer music? Everybodys gone surfing... surfing Bay of Biscay..
surfing Paris France didn't seem to work, besides I don't want to put ideas in anyones head and have TekiLatex do Dinosaurs with Surfboards or something like that.
Let us not even talk about Alizee Sery...
And then we were bombarded with Axel and Alizée, the two 8 year olds that won France's Got Talent. Bombarded, yeah... bombarded.
I have kept my thoughts to myself on these two but I really wondered about their names. I have not sought out an answer but I did think it a bit ironic that one of Alizée Jacotey's first television performances was a song Ma Priere by Axelle Red.

Google Adwords and Alizée
Let's include Microsoft Ads (Yahoo and Bing) and Facebook Ads.
Have you ever noticed the lack of these in the music industry. So I thought I would use one of my Google Adword accounts and start a campaign. I would use keywords Alizee, Jacotey...
A couple hours old here are the first results...
Sometimes the information from Google is speculative at best.
I had to bump the cost per click up to $1 USD, frankly that is expensive. I normally see 15 to 30 cents per click. The information provided tells me Alizee is seldom used and they suggested to get listed for Jacotey to bump it up to $1 USD. Frankly that makes no sense, but with GoogleAds sometime you need to let it settle in.
Let's move on. So for instance, you type in Jacotey in Google and now you get this...
You can see Alizee now showing on the right hand side. Of course I made it to click through to this site. AND I will suspend that ad program as soon as I publish so I do not have all of you clicking on it and costing me $1 USD per cleck... :)
Are you familiar with what is called the Google "L", it is where the pay per clicks can show up. For example I type in "airline"
The area boxed in red is the Google "L", where paid ads show up.
So why no paid advertising for Alizee, Alizee Store, Une Enfant Du Siecle???
Any other product utilizes the internet and paid advertising. It would be unheard of not to consider it. If you want to sell a widget today you would be making a big mistake not to have some type of campaign.
The old saying is: If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a noise. Don't be that tree, bring some people into the forest via ALL means available.
Having some interviews in magazines... is that it?
How many people that bought the album Une Enfant du Siecle subscribe to any of those magazines. How many people that bought the album (and also did not buy the album) searched the internet for "Alizee". An AD taking them directly to the album or directly to the Alizee Store would really help. I am not putting the magazines down at all, I am just saying why stop there? No, I am actually saying... why stop there!
Google Adwords, Microsoft Adwords, Facebook Ads....
Alizée, I heard you talk about branding last spring. I was happy to hear that but... where do "we" stand on that. Don't forget you have a whole army of people that just want to help. Forums, blogs and twitter accounts galore. We are just waiting to be led.
...and hire someone, don't make be do the google adwords for you when the store opens.

It's been a long tough week. I really need to become a jet setter, I think it would make weeks like this much easier. Maybe if I throw everything into commodities, watch the USD implode on debt, oil then trade on Euros and watch the emergence of the bancor as the world currency... oh wait, that's for the conspiracy blog.

Pigeon toed look
It's the holidays... my ramblings maybe all over the place :)
Is the pigeon toed model look being done to death! Every time I see someone striking a pose it is the pigeon toed look or the 'flirty feet' innocent look.
Flash back to 2003 we had Alizée on the cover of Mes Courants Électriques 
I am slightly pigeon toed so it is something I always notice, pigeon toed or duck feet.
But have we seen enough? It's ALL over the place now.
Even Papa Jacotey loves the look...but you have look pretty hard to find those photos right now... and I wouldn't republish them any way. (unless he sent me one of course)
Oh, don't even go there and give me that look soul sister, I have to find something to fill in the holidays!
You just get the store back on line and I'll keep everyone distracted. You do know that today is 14 days from the 7th, the time the store was supposed to be down, but hey, who's counting. OK, OK, you're right, NOW I DO deserve the LOOK. :) :) :)

Whew... so glad that's over with, I was trying to give a little time for the new Christmas song to settle in.
Now I can relax... what? the latest hair style, the part, it's on the right side.

getting ready....
This is "our" Christmas Eve. Tomorrow we get a present, we get to see Alizée in the new Christmas song that is spearheaded by Tahiti Boy. We are all antsy like little kids, maybe some will not even sleep tonight.
It's not often we know something is going to happen, basically we know its a short part in a new Christmas song and we know what day it is going to happen. Unusual for "us", we don't know how to act.
Now isn't that silly... all this for a 10 second shot. But it's true. There will be tweets and facebook posts and blogs and forum posts and and and... all for a glimpse of Alizée.
I plead 'no contest' ... it's true, and it's our own little phenomena, the rest of the world somehow does not see it. Once you have been given "Alizée eyes" you see it and can't figure out how you never saw it before and how all your friends don't see it.
If the song is shared via YouTube, Alizée fans will just dominate the comments. Yes even though there are 15 other artist involved. This is not a prediction... it's now just a fact. I hope everyone knows that by now. Seriously, the conversation around the Institubes water cooler should go something like this... Tahiti Boy is going to post that new Christmas song and Alizée fans are going to drive us all nuts.
This will be fun, I am looking forward to it all.
Just think if Alizée did a Chirstmas song and posted it on YouTube.... and visions of sugar plums danced in my head...

December 7th is almost here... the start of the two week closure of Alizee Store.
Will this also mean to not expect any Alizée news? Can we just relax and enjoy the holidays? Is it "holiday" all around?
We don't know. Last year we were pleasantly surprised by "It's Christmas but it won't be the last" So you never know.
Or is this another trip to the far side of the moon?
Tidal forces between Earth and the Moon have slowed the moon's rotation so that the same side is always facing the Earth. The other face, which is never visible from the Earth in its entirety (18% of it can be seen under some conditions), is therefore called the "far side of the Moon". (wikipedia)
Alizée earth observatories can only monitor for the return.
As with any object that visits the Far Side, there is no contact. Be it any of the Apollo missions or Alizée we must wait patiently for their return to re-establish contact.
The moon, along with Alizée, their far sides have never been explored, although there have been some pictures.
Alizée earth monitoring stations are preparing for this step of the process and that is for Alizee Store to lose contact December 7.
Keep in mind we have not established if this is indeed the beginning of a far side trip. Perhaps only maintenance or a revamping for more.
We can only suggest Alizée earth monitoring stations stay on alert.

Alizée has always railed against conventional wisdon.
Being young she "played" the lolita role.
Being a sensation she dropped out of site, married and had a daughter.
Coming back she discontinued her affiliation with Mylene and friends.
The public looking for lolita part II came the real Alizée.
Looking for pop came electro
When information is expected it doesn't come, out of nowhere information shows.

After all these years... it's part of her charm! It IS Alizée.

Alizée - why is that...
Alizée - why is it...
Last night in the back ground a local band was playing... they had a female singer and about every other song I thought... that would be fun to hear Alizée sing that song.
Why is that... I always think of songs I would like to hear Alizée sing? Do you do that? I don't do that with other singers / entertainers.
I listen to Kavinsky's "Night Call" and think I would like to hear Alizée sing that. A sick obsession of mine is to hear Alizée sing "Tom's Diner". I listen to Goom Radio Limelight just to hear Alizée talk to me, to hear her voice... just talking.
Come on, be truthful, you all go to 1:50 on "It's Christmas (And It Won't Be The Last)" Just to hear that voice... don't you?
Do you do that with Lady Gaga, Katy, Kesha? ...I would really like to hear them sing this song or that or hear them talk... no not really.
But Alizée... we go out of our way to just hear her talk in an interview and I we always are coming up with songs we would like to hear her sing.
I think... I take Alizée right out of those Alimart pictures or even the DJ pictures, take a simple song where we can hear her voice and throw her on Letterman... interview her for 3 minutes... promotion done! Americans would not get enough. Sometimes I think it gets a little too Parisian.
Her voice... hypnotizing, mesmerizing, sexifying... that's the product plus we love the look.
Let's say a song lasts 3 minutes. Itunes sells it for 99 cents. Now let's say there is an interview, an English speaking interview for example that is 3 minutes long and Itunes is selling the interview for 99 cents. Would you think about buying it??? If so why? I thought it was about the music? I would think about it.
Speaking of products... Alizee Store is shutting down for 2 weeks, starting December 7. Sorry I can't help myself... numbers and semantics. Dec 7 add 14 days = December 21. Will the store open up the 21st? was it just a round figure and mean sometime after the holidays? If so why wasn't it just said that way. If it does open back up right before Christmas... why would that be? Again I am sorry my mind works that way, but I am a great conspiracy theorist person...
