Our last vestige of contact
When Alizée takes a break... Alizée takes a break
It's who she is. It's part of her persona.
MySpace, it's been over a year, YouTube 9 months, Twitter, blog, her store... Feb.
Website... well you get the picture.
No one "runs" anything in her absence.
Facebook was our last vestige of contact... even if it was just profile pics changing.
But even that has stopped. This is classic Alizée, learn to enjoy it.

Alizée best of ... continued
Alizée best of ... continued
So if there is a best of album, will it be because Alizée can then have it under "her" umbrella and offer it in "her" store?
But then again... where is MJ, 5060... Psychédélices in the store?
I hate it when I come up with more questions then answers.

It's not always about Alizée around here
A friend just called... 7:15 am.... are you crazy calling me at this time on a Saturday...
The good news was I was already though my first cup of coffee. Ah the wonderful auto brew, setting it to 5 am. It gets up, makes my coffee and its ready when I wake up. Pouring that first cup I thought of asking my coffee maker to marry me. It's almost as good as having... well, let's not go there. I then had this idea of these self indulgent appliances and marketing them under the brand name 'significant other'.
But then it is back to le chat noir "Paris". Paris has issues, I believe she is jealous of the computer mouse, she must think that I am "petting it" and the clicking of the keyboard is some form of "play" with the computer. She becomes jealous. I had to lock her out of the office yesterday just to get some work done. Sometimes you just have to... She makes that jump onto the desk, skids a bit a la Tom Cruise sliding across the floor in 'Risky Business' in his socks and underwear. Then she strikes a pose, you know the one, wild eyed and monkey tailed! It's time to play!
We play a game called 'The Fast and the Furious, Tokyo Drift'. Getting out the string or the feather on the stick it gives Paris a chance to show off her mad drifting skills on the hardwood floors. Her internal speedometer is going 100 mph but her external speed is 1 mph.
Now the morning is slipping by faster then expected and it's not always about Alizée around here

Alizée best of...
from Lilly's nest, @nidalizee, http://www.nidalizee.com/
Exclu : un best-of avant le nouvel album de 2012 !
D'après nos informations Alizée sortira un best of de ses 4 albums studio à la fin de l'année 2011. (une version DVD avec l'intégrale des clips est envisagés).
Exclusive: a best-of before the new album of 2012!
According to our information Alizée released a best of her 4 studio albums at the end of 2011. (a DVD version with the integral clips is considered).
Let's talk
Could have said best of and leave it at that, but the emphasis on "her 4 studio albums"
that would be:
Gourmandises
Mes Courants Électriques
Psychédélices
Une enfant du siècle
Would it be just too easy to grab all the released singles?
Moi... Lolita, L'Alizé, Parler tout bas, Gourmandises
J'en ai marre!, J'ai pas vingt ans, À contre-courant
Mademoiselle Juliette, Fifty-Sixty, La Isla Bonita
Les Collines (Never Leave You)
Could you leave a released single off the list? 10 is a nice number.
If you could add one, what would it be... Lilly Town or Hey Amigo.... tough one for me, almost my two favorites.
Is it a significant statement that all 4 studio albums are now mentioned together? Would the earlier songs now be re-released under the Wisteria Song label? Perhaps that is the underlying importance of this, more of a business realignment, getting the major songs released under her label, under one roof. This "best of" may be more for business then for our listening pleasure... But what do I know???
And what about the songs, would they be redone or would it be a digital reorganization and not a total redo? Would that mean the original studio version of say... J'en ai marre would be released in the original form under Wisteria Song? Or would it be redone in the new version? All very interesting isn't it... well I think so!
The best part: a DVD version with the integral clips is considered
What? considered?
Alizée, quality clips of you are not all that common. We would want to own, pay for, sell blood for quality clips of you. What are you crazy? Of course you're going to do that for us! ptdr... OK I did get a little carried away.
nidalizee makes one statement and make it into a short story, sorry about that.
You know what else would be fun? Of course you don't, that's what I'm here for... to tell you... Alizée sings her favorites... Sounds of Silence, 99 Luftballons, Hung up on you...

The Alizée Citizenside watermark photo
I tried to ignore it...
I had hoped it would go away...
I can't help myself...
Why oh why Alizée would you use a watermarked photo of yourself?
What is it that you are trying to tell me?
Are you on holiday and not have access to your photos... but yet have access to a computer and just went online and grabbed a watermarked one? There are plenty of non watermarked ones, that does not seem plausable.
Do you want me to look further... into citizenside perhaps?

Proof of Celebrity Life...
Proof of Celebrity Life...
This is what we are down to... the most basic, primal form of communication... Checking FaceBook avatars. If they are changed it is proof of activity, proof of celebrity life.
It involves the whole family for hints, well almost.
First there is Jo. Jo announced that he was going to be in Paris... time passed then he posted FB pics of his "favorite model" down on the water (not Paris) then went into FB private mode. (an easy way to go into standby mode)
Jeremy takes down his photos and puts up a new avatar showing "water" (not Paris)
Are these hints that the crew is on holiday?
Then of course Alizée changes her avatar just to let us know she is around.
That's life as an Alizée fan...

Psychédélices - La Isla Bonita
Do you own Psychédélices and no La Isla Bonita on it...
Wikipedia
French pop singer Alizée has performed "La Isla Bonita" during her first promotional tours in Europe in 2003. In 2008, a new studio version was recorded and included on the special edition of her album, Psychédélices, in Mexico. The song so far has gone on to become Alizée's first top ten single on the Mexico national top ten airplay chart along with reaching number two in her native France.
Hmmmm... that's what "they" say
It would be kind of fun to have an Alizée commentary regarding her singles. Just a little something about each on her website. Maybe even how one won out of another song... just a thought, what do I know about what would be popular with fans... without being too personal...

I have to tell them Alizée... I know, I know I'm just a rogue blog, I'm no high powered web site, no members, nothing...
But at least I'm telling them something Alizée, you do stuff and don't even comment on it and just tease us to... what? To see who notices? You are such a tease.

HYPE MEANS NOTHING I then click on English.
If you click on the TV set that has "clothes" you will see more of these type of pics on T shirts.
If you click on the TV set that has "blog" you will see this pic...
Look familiar?
Oh Please Alizée... someone had to tell them and I knew you would not. You drive me crazy. I just was not going to be able to take one more repost of a pic with "she is an angel"... With all this teasing you do and not saying a thing about it, If you ask me I think there is a bit of a devil in you :). and Alizée, don't give me the old "C'est pas ma faute"
So there you go, more connecting the dots. Hope it was fun for you and something for the forums to Twitter. So Alizée... how do I know? Oh, I just couldn't tell. A lil tease right back at ya girlfriend.

Experimental Rock
Getting back to that article from Charts in France. They called the article "Back to Basics". French Link -- English Link
Have you noticed that after a year now no one ever called it bad! That is important. Charts in France said "too "special" for the media to the general public"
Can we now begin to think of slipping "Une Enfant du Siecle" into the experimental rock class?
Wikipedia:
"Experimental rock or avant-garde rock is a type of music based on rock which experiments with the basic elements of the genre, or which pushes the boundaries of common composition and performance technique.
Performers may also attempt to individualize their music with unconventional time signatures, instrumental tunings, compositional styles, lyrical techniques, elements of other musical genres, singing styles, instrumental effects or custom-made experimental musical instruments."
Are we not there with UEDS? I think we can.
A list of other experimental albums
I know I am stepping out on ledge but it would be nice to see UEDS on this list... there with The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed... and others.

The mysterious case of the missing mixtapes
The mysterious case of the missing mixtapes
Last summer "The Teenagers" made a remix of "Les Collines". It has not yet surfaced.
Via Twitter The Teenagers tweeted they did it.
Then what happened? Let's try and figure this out.
Let's ask Alizée
15) It's in my MacBook but iTunes grabbed it and wants .99 Euros for it
14) The iPhone app for it failed
13) The French Postal System! They are looking for it.
12) It was on a DVD and I copied Desperate Housewives over it.
11) It's stuck in the DVD player
10) I put it in the Netflix envelope and am trying to get it back
9) Lil A has it in one of her players and I can't find it.
8) Papa took and is taking a picture of it (black and white of course)
7) Brother used it as a coaster
6) It's somewhere in the kitchen drawer with all the other stuff
5) I put it right here, Jeremy must have moved it, again!
4) I left it in Corsica
3) The Cat took it and buried it in the litter box
2) The Dog ate it
1) Both Cat and Dog stories (ewwww)
Do you have any clues as to what happened?
A one year anniversary surprise for Les Collines would be nice, but...

Since there will not be any event for a while and I will not be able to attend something to get it, perhaps you could do one, scan it, and email it to me at alizeenation@gmail.com. If if would not be too much trouble. From some one use only email account... Please...if it would not be too much trouble

Happy Accident
Besides following Alizée I do enjoy trying to manipulate the internet for fun. Through SEO and such things.
Well now I've gone and done it.
A few posts back I did the European Dream post.

Now more people could "accidentally" discover Alizée. Definitely a "Happy Accident"
Oh no, now when people go to Google Happy Accident (one of my favorite romantic comedies with Marisa Tomei, mmmm) they could "accidentally" discover Alizée. Another Happy Accident... ohhhh it never stops... a riddle within a riddle within a riddle...

Alizée - Une Enfant du Siecle a year later...
Alizée - Une Enfant du Siecle a year later...
I enjoyed the article from Charts in France but I feel they stopped short regarding the subject of Une Enfant du Siecle.
Over the past year we have read the theory that it was too mainstream for some and not mainstream for others and thus fell between the cracks. I agree with this theory but I am going to address more then the style of music.
When UEDS first came on our radar it was always emphasized as a collaboration with Chateau Marmont, Rob, Tahiti Boy, Para One, Tacteel... The hidden egg was video of Chateau Marmont. It was almost as if it was them and Alizée, which in a way it was. It was almost as if it was a duet situation. The album was not just Alizée!
Have you made note that there has not been one live performance of any song from UEDS with the collaborators. This album has been made and now you can't perform it by the artist that made it. They have separate careers to manage. What an anchor for promoting an album! Noam Chomsky is famous for the saying "manufacturing consent" There was no opportunity to create excitement or manufacture consent to help boost sales.
Chateau Marmont is very unique, do you want to recreate that with studio musicians? Perhaps some day but not as the promotion for this album that boasts their inclusion.
Could Daft tour without Punk? (you know what I mean) No! The same here. This duet (and more) was created but... it appears they could not tour together, their careers had different directions.
Maybe the album did fall between the cracks but with out any promotion by all the originators what chance did it have. It was left out there all alone.
Now lets work on a little "ah ha" moment.
What to do, what to do???
How to promote without having the team, the other side of the duet?
There is a guy that does it successfully. It's really not fair to compare but it is the basic model that was tried.
Do you remember when we were all scratching our heads thinking what is going on?
It was DJ Alizée
and who is it that is a monster success at touring and promoting without his collaborators present?
David pulls it off, he does not need to The Black Eyed Peas to be there for him to rock out on tour with I've Got a Feeling... ah ha, that's what that was about.
I told you it was not a fair comparison with David Guetta but you get the idea. Could Alizée actually tour without "them". For whatever reason that project was not continued but maybe we have a little bit more of an understanding of what was going on.
So there you go, no song ever performed live by the actual performers and there was an attempt to produce something without them.
New album... create a band to tour and promote.
It was fun, it was unique but just too difficult to synchronize careers.
That's my thoughts one year later.
Alizée... was I able to pick that up telepathically or am just crazy? :)

Charts in France new Alizée article
Article Link
They reviewed UEDS in a rational manner, suggesting some of the difficulties involved with the promotion of UEDS but keeping it in a good light.
The article goes on to talk about the new album coming back to a more mainstream approach and wonder, along with the rest of us, where it is going and with whom Alizée might be working with... if even by process of elimination by suggesting who may not be the most likely to collaborate with.
The anticipation begins...

Taking a look at Ning
May I suggest something Alizée?
Let's talk about your social presence. Yes I see you playing around on Facebook and often too if I may say. But your overall fan sites is where I am going. You have your facebook, website, tumblr, twitter, myspace, youtube and your Alizee Store.
Let's start with your website... It's static... just sitting there...can I hear an echo?
Tumbler, twitter... I know, I know it's all a pain in the ass. All the while we scour each site for updates and changes... talking to the hardest working man in South Africa, Alizee South Africa, have I noticed no Institube links....hmmmmm
The hard part of all of this is that you Alizée have to do all the work. The beauty of Facebook is that Mark Zuckenberg does not have to do all the work, the users do. If you don't do all the work it just sits there empty.
So what do "we" do. Here is a good example, this one is called Ning.
Here we can take a look at how the "Plain White T's" used Ning.
http://plainwhitets.ning.com/
Everything on one page, Blog, videos, Twitter, Store, a forum ... a one stop to monitor it all and the best part is if you use a Twitter feed that follows mentions of @mellealizee or just the name Alizée and that way we the fans are keeping it active for you. You still get to pop in but using this as your main social stop we the people make it a living breathing thing...

Wondering about the busisness side
Wondering about the bussiness side...
I was going to call it questions but they really are not questions...just me wondering.
When I say business I am referring to the business side of the Alizée entertainment complex. Not financial investments.
These "wonderings" are made up, fictional, a figment of my imagination along with the word "wonderings".
Now that the ground work is laid lets start this fantasy trip. How did these wonderings occur to me? At the end of the movie "The Social Network" I was reading all the settlements between Mark Zukerberg and everyone else and started wondering...
This Mylene and Alizée relationship. Have you ever seen a relationship end so quietly? Well except for Mark Zukerberg and Eduardo Saverin and their Facebook settlement... oh but wait, that was because of a non disclosure agreement.
I was wondering if Mylene and Alizée have a non disclosure agreement or is it that they really do not have anything to say... out of courtesy?
IF there was an agreement...
I was wondering when would it have occured? Somewhere between 2004 and 2007 I guess
There are certain songs that I have not heard Alizée sing the same way as she did pre 2004. One that sounds the same(ish) is Moi Lolita and one that does not is J'en Ai Marre.
I was wondering if there was an agreement, would it require that certain songs would have to be changed. Moi Lolita is Alizée's signature song and that would be able to be used but for example the 2nd most famous is J'en ai marre would have to be changed. All part of my fantasy non disclosure and monetary agreement. Seriously have you ever wondered why?
I was wondering if certain people could not be "worked with" for a certain amount of time. After an agreement was reached Eduardo did get his name back on as a Facebook founder.
I was wondering if there were such a fantasy agreement it could not be forever, so how long would it last? Perhaps till late 2012??? Perchance a "homecoming" of sorts?(mais pas avec Mylène Farmer)(but not with Mylène Farmer)as stated by nidalizee. But some type of homecoming of sorts then.
So how much did Eduardo Saverin get and where in the world is he? That's like asking where is Alizée and let's interview Alizée and Mylene.
Alizée will be 28 in late 2012. What will this homecoming mean and...what's the story behind it...
That's what I was wondering...
With my fantasy connect the made up dot game

Some thoughts and David Guetta
Yesterday I caught a short interview with David Guetta. It was at the Superbowl and some quick questions fired at him from Sirius Hits 1 then played on the Morning Mashup show.
They asked David about being married, having two children and being on the road.
He said he tries not be away from them for more then two weeks. He was at the Superbown then headed to Los Angeles, there is family will join him for 20 days.
Asked about what his children think of his superstar status. He said the youngest is too young, his son does not like that "his job" takes him away and is annoyed by people coming up to them all the time when they are out.
He was very practical and aware of the situation. He seemed to take a no nonsense attitude of working out solutions.
It was just a sound byte type of interview but very interesting. I would have enjoyed hearing more, especially about the years of "creating" a family and how things went then. It's a little different for the male then the female, a little more time off is... needed.
So how about some David Guetta with the YouTube sensation Keenan Cahill

le nouvel album d'Alizée est prévue fin 2012
Perhaps it will be an End Of The World Album... December 21, 2012...That's late 2012... The Alizee Prophecy Album! The Doomsday Album...
As in the movie 2012
Mayan Prophecy, Mayan calendar ending 12/21/2012
Polls shifting
Solar Flares
i ching predictions
Doomsday
End Times
The Hopis and Mayans recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age... In both cases, however, the Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another
Kabbalah year 5773
.............or not, "shrugs"
but you just have to love this new open line of communication! EP cancelled, OK, so now we are not incessantly asking about it.
eh, the Doomsday Album sounds so negative...

Alizée 2012
From @nidalizee, Lilly's Nest
Alizée's new album is scheduled for late 2012. Cancellation of the EP. A "homecoming" is musically very likely (but not with Mylène Farmer)
Le nouvel album d'Alizée est prévue fin 2012. Annulation de l'EP. Un "retour aux sources" musicalement...

Alizee Store and the shirts...
So @mellealizee I just have to ask, what's with the shirts?
There are female shirts and unisex shirts.
First... I would think most of your fans and shirt wearing fans are males. Male shirts please.
Second... Somehow I always thought there were male and unisex not female and unisex. But I could see that you would want a more female style shirt for the females.
The real deal is that I am just not used to seeing and buying shirts that are labeled unisex. I bet anyone in the US that bought one did a double take to make sure they were ordering the correct shirt. It's really no big deal, just stood out to me and of course I had 20 minutes to kill
Third... a heavy duty cotton one would be awesome.
It is kind of along the lines of the this beer commercial...
only joking.... :)
but if that man thong had Alizee written on it..... well now
