Alizée and Jive Epic.
Managing expectations is very important. Expectations by fans are all over place for Alizée.
Managing expectations means having all groups understand or at least to accept the same values and directions of Alizée the person and performer.
For example communicate with us:
very excited with the album
looking forward for a "November" release (or whatever date)
working out details at the studio
the single will be released (whatever date)
the single is released, it was fun making....
a fantastic magazine article....
a TV show appearance....
Next...
Alizée - WHO ARE YOU? Let me explain.
A lot of fans think that with this next album (even with the last album) that you will be breaking out to 'compete' with the Lady Gaga's and Britney's of the world. That is their expectation! World tours.
Others think you will be a form of Mylene Farmer. Very successful in parts of the world you choose to concentrate your efforts.
Yet others feel you are more of a niche market. For example, April March. Does an album once in a while, does a concert once in a while, has not been on MySpace since 8/14/09. Does OK and is happy.
Regardless of the content of the new album, it will be interesting comparing the promotion of this new (still no name released) to Psychédélices. You can work your butt off producing a new album, but you can do that from your home studio, a local studio, and not have to deal with the media. Once it is released...how many public appearances will there be to support the promotion of this new album?
That is what I mean, who are you. There is no wrong answer for you Alizée, but if you let the answer up to us it leads to disappointment. When the new album comes out let us know. Tell us...I am not going to do anything or I am going to do this and that. Tell us you need family time mixed in...Tell us whatever it is, manage us or let us run wild.
Where are we right this second with this formula. Since the album is not out lets say "your performance" would be the communication about the new single, via Twitter, MySpace and Jive Epic, divided by "customer expectations" = "customer satisfaction" Oppps, and you would do it this way....why? Was this the plan?
Keep this in mind. Perception! How you perceive your performance may differ from how your customers perceive it. Even if you and your staff are just working your butts off, if customers view you as unresponsive, then you are unresponsive — in their eyes
Give us a chance to accept your values and directions. Chances are you will find a great amount of support.
My apologies if I spoke out of turn.
I just do not want Alizée's reputation to be at risk.

I've always been a huge proponent of Alizée communicating with fans more often. She has excellent tools at her disposal to do so and it requires so little of her time.
Little tweets like "Having lunch with my best friend" mean a lot to the fan community, even if it tells you very little.
I would point out that someone is officially responsible for giving out release dates and it's probably Sony, not Alizée. So she is doing the right thing by not providing specific info. She could, however, let us know from time to time that things are moving along.
Personally, I have no complaints about how this release is being handled so far. I'm glad there have been no leaks.
I agree with you Lefty, so far I am happy with this release.
A handful of Tweets to 'manage' us along the way would be perfect.
