Our expectations managed? What is that supposed to mean?
Roman, you have been around the Alizee scene a long time and have more insight on what and what not to expect then most of us.
It is really trying to temper expectations of those who may be still thinking and holding out for Lolita style productions.
The "sketches" of her on her website and myspace...
The videos do not suggest anything of the sort.
She can do anything and fake us out. It just "appears" not heading back that way. I am not saying we will not be visually pleased but it just looks like we will be seeing the continuation of a much deeper and artistic Alizee.
That is all, just reinforcing the facts "as I see them" and perhaps I am completely wrong.
So what you see as a matter of fact, not everyone see's. They see what they believe and what 'they' hope for and when the product comes out there is...a mild disappointment. For that group, not you Roman, expect what you are seeing and when the product is released and if the pendulum actually swings back 'your' direction, you will be happy. Set yourself up for happiness.
For those of us who love an Alizee mystery...the beat goes on...

So, you mean that Alizée is trying to create an expectation of non-expectation (manage) amongst the people seeing the thing?
It is indeed those who don't pay attention and/or refuse to believe the truth whose expectations she would be "attempting" to "manage". Considering that Alizée is somewhat subtle, perhaps one could construe it as managing, though it does indeed seem strange to me that she would feel the need to manage anyone's expectations (beyond simply explaining what her intentions are and likely future) at this point. Though, considering the questions asked of her at the last press conference in Mexico, amazingly enough people still hadn't gotten the message after over a year passed the time when it was quite apparent she was not returning to the image of her teenage years. None the less, Alizée certainly has the opportunity to surprise people, being "reserved" and being private so much of the time. It leaves us with little to go on to guess what she might do. I think I have a pretty good idea at this point though. She has been around enough in the past few years and has said enough in interviews that we should have a guess. But, as you say, newer fans who have been around for a year or less can still wonder.
