Unknown said...: Love it. While it's probably blasphemy to most Alizée fans, this promo sheet actually has me more excited than the Madonna-esque photos. (If only because there's an honest-to-goodness DATE on it!)

FYI, if anyone's curious, a few of us determined last night that the font used for the title appears to be 'Didot' or a variation thereof...which, if you do a little research, is somewhat appropriate.

How do we feel about the new 'A' logo, which is faintly visible in the upper right corner of the promo? At first I was underwhelmed by it--it lacks the flourish and character of either the Gourmandises/MCE-era or the Psychédélices-era logos. A day later, it's started to grow on me.

The new 'A' is simple and understated, especially compared to the last one--the Psych 'A' had too many fiddly bits going on in the flourish for my taste--which lends it a sort of elegance, I think. And I like the symbolism of the flag planted at the A's peak...as though with this album, Team Lili has completed a difficult climb and reached some sort of summit in triumph. We'll have to see (hear?) for ourselves when the album drops to determine if that's true, but it's a neat idea.

Finally, on a personal note, the new 'A' is going to be WAY easier to incorporate into avatars, forum signatures and the like. The asymmetrical nature of the previous two made them an absolute pain inna butt to work with, sometimes!; January 6, 2010 at 11:41 AM
