Trickle of information from Alizée
The trickle of information has slowed down...ALL information has been released under strict control...and then came the Miami story...did that story upset the release of information?
Do you think uneenfantdusiecle.com was to be discovered when it was discovered??? What if it was not, would there have been a "release" of information for fans to find it??? Hmmm.
Those are the two questions on information release to date. Things that happened outside the actual release of information from Alizée or was it meant to be that way?
So, this week...will there be more information released? The website(s) updated. I would like to say "I think so" but....
It appears that Jive Epic will not be releasing information...at least to date the information has come via Alizée websites and twitter...so I expect Jive Epic to just point to that information when it is released. I think that makes sense.
One thing I have noticed is how fast fans digest the information these days...it does not have a long shelf life. Likely due to the fact that fans just want Alizée and her new music. Even the story of "Miami", did not last that long...it was a wow, really, no way.....whatever... and back to the real story of where's Alizée. I remember when stories lasted, the Tinkerbell tattoo, it took forever for that to pass. Fans have developed the eye of the tiger...all eyes on Alizée and the new album.

It is interesting, posing philosophical questions and dilemma beyond our imaginations. But what if you took that question and challenged yourself with it on a less earth shattering level. I think that is what Institubes establishes and nurtures on a musical and art level. What is your most dangerous idea, art or musically speaking and gives them the opportunity to go do it.
The idea does not have to be solving the mysteries of the universe but just pushing yourself to your creative limits.
I am thinking Institubes has provided some of that environment for Alizée and I can't wait to see the results.

There are a lot of comments lately, be sure not to miss them. They offer more information, constructive thoughts that add to the post and yeah...some fun. It would be a shame if you missed them!
Some serious stuff and lots of fun too. I really was unsure whether to do that dream post, was totally uncomfortable with it. Do you know I have to get up earlier now just because of Alizée. I need more time in the morning for this. Is it me or has all this had an effect on you too? You are affecting my sleep Alizée. Dream wise and time wise.

I had this rather silly dream and Alizee was in it. By the way that has never happened before and feeling really weird about it. It is not very much, here it is...

...this took place at a hospital...nothing wrong with me, I am just there, I look in this one room and there is Alizée and she was cutting some guys hair.
She finishes his haircut, he pays her and said thanks and starts to walk away. I walk up to him and say very sternly "You don't even know who just cut your hair, do you?"
He has a blank look on his face. Alizée is looking a bit embarrassed and shy...I turn to her and start to bumble and stumble and say "I really like your music"

But...think about the location...can service Mexico from there rather easily...international airport that can go to Mexico City or Paris... geographically speaking it could be a logical hub of operations. A business decision.

Monday November 9, 2009...we are getting into the middle of November. Jive Epic told us November...well we did get official information...or shall we say "proof of life" via the Official Website and the 6 teasers. We did see a pulse on @mellealizee twitter with the more video tweets. There are articles starting to appear, yet they are almost a reaction to us and not from any official release of information. No one is slipping up and saying anything...they are adhering to the policy that if you do not say anything you can not slip up.
The teasers are still there...but what do we make of them?
Sometimes I feel like I am part of SETI except that we are all looking for signs of "life" from Alizée.

Looks like the new album is going to miss the Christmas season. Whether or not you partake in not important, it still is a good time to sell a new album.
What about January....would you release the new single before Les Enfoires and the album after Les Enfoires? Is that a distraction?
It would be cool to do Coachella Festival 2010 in April. Yeah I know, pimping it for the third year in a row now.
I took notice Nolween Leroy is releasing a new album right now and a new single is out right now. Does a fellow artist releasing a new album cause a conflict?

I looked in my little book of comments and I was fresh out for comments on yet another release date. What do you want me to say? This is what I refer to as whale watching. Over on the right side of the boat...now on the left side...now back on the right side...as we all run back and forth across the deck of the boat trying to catch a glimpse. Similarly, new album in 2009, single in November, no September, no 3rd week of September, no October, no back to November, wait not November, 2010....
I am not angry or upset. I am a big fan of Alizée, which of course you all know. I am sure I will love it when it comes out, no doubt in my mind. I just do not do whale watching very well, some might even call it the little boy that cried wolf. I guess I didn't come running this time. It's not like it was the actual song or anything, just more words.
I want to sit back and say "you win". We don't have a clue, you did it! What you won I have no idea.

Obviously a decision was made and that included the decision to not even correct all the false rumors.

Now I remember why I see what I see in those images. I have attached the album cover for "Mourning Sun" by Fields of the Nephilim (yes, it appears my opinions are coloured by gothic rock/metal influences lol).
Anyway, compare the visage on that cover (which is that of Carl McCoy--vocalist/sole permanent member of FOTN--btw) with the two of Alizée. If I understand the cover correctly, that is supposed to be a death mask... /his death mask/.

Ghosts I - IV

Alright. Where do I begin, mes amis ? Well, it started when I came home from work yesterday. One of our fellow Lilly Towners/frikis, RondasX, tweeted to me about Alizée's new single due out in November, and provided me links to her official website and her MySpace.
When I first looked at the two images Lili (or someone else) placed at those locations and on her Facebook, the first thought was that these were really good charcoal drawings; I realize that, of course, those may have just been Photoshop'd from two photos to look that way, but these were good nonetheless. However, upon closer examination, I began to wonder where Lili was going with these images...
In short: Alizée as we knew her is dead, buried alongside that teddy bear under the tree of dolls.
How did I come to this conclusion? As I examined the images presented before me, I couldn't help but notice that it appears as if we came upon our Lili's death bed just after she had passed on from this mortal coil. The fact the images were presented not only in black and white but as charcoal drawings only helped to spur my theory forward.
It would make sense, after all; from what I've read about Lili and her body of work, it would appear that up until now, others helped shaped her image, whether it was Mylène Farmer or anyone involved with her last album (if I am wrong here, do let me know).
From what I gathered from Lili's Spanish Wikipedia entry, though--and with a little help from Google Translate, as well--it seems that while she has a team to help shape her current work, this one is all her this time, music and lyrics.
Also: She did just turn 25. Being a quarter of a century old is quite the milestone; being a quarter of a century old /and/ accomplishing all that Alizée has accomplished... 'tis not just a milestone, mes amis. 'Tis a freakin' monolith!
Thus, these images signify, IMO, a closing of a chapter, a turning of the page (cue Bob Seger now, s'il vous plaît) on Lili's wonderful life thus far.
But I digress.
So, I took to Twitter and posted my thoughts on the images. Rondas suggested they were a bit Tim Burton-esque in nature--which I do agree with here--and in turn, the gears in my mind began to spin...
Go back a couple of years. Remember when Trent Reznor and his merry band of mercenaries began leaving clues about a new album while touring--the USB drive with a high-quality copy of "Survivalism" left in a bathroom stall in Germany or the tour T-shirt with a hidden code printed in broad daylight that eventually led to the first of a series of increasingly disturbed web pages come to mind--and all of the attention it brought before and when "Year Zero" finally came out?
I got to thinking, "If Trent can do that, why not Lili?"
Little did I know...
After going on about this through a few tweets with Rondas, I opted to take a shower before going to work on a little problem I had with my version of Linux and PulseAudio. While I was in the shower, though, another thought came to me:
"You know, I should check the source code of Alizée's official site. Something might be there."
Now, what prompted this thought was that years ago, another band I followed--The Sisters of Mercy--did something similar with their website, as seen here, taken from the Live News page of the band's site: http://www.twitpic.com/mbf9y/full. Easter eggs, as they are called. I figured if Andrew Eldritch can leave a snarky comment about potential opening acts playing on-stage with The Sisters, then why couldn't Lili do the same thing, but not as vitriolic?
So, after I finished my shower, I headed back to my laptop, pulled up Lili's official website, and right clicked to "View Page Source."

Nothing out of the ordinary, really. All that stuff is there to make the page render nicely, is all... except for that green text my cursor pointed to. What's going on here?
I had to know for myself.
I had to open Alizée's Box.
I copy and pasted the URL into Firefox and found this interesting Flash movie of two guitarists interacting with a woman in the dark while a keyboardist plays away, all accompanied by this strange, dark, film noir-ish soundtrack.
The woman appeared to be giving direction to her two guitarists in this film, but then decided to break the fourth wall by turning to us and smiling before going back to work.
I figured there was more to this file, though, so I let it play for about five or so minutes.
Nothing.
I left the page to report my findings to Lilly Town and tweet more about it.
Then, I decided to look again...
Lo and behold, the second Flash movie appeared, this time featuring one of her guitarists and her keyboardist, who appeared to be playing along with the hook of the soundtrack.
Further, unlike the first film, the second scrolled from right to left, which, with the wisps of smoke coming into view and combined with the aforementioned soundtrack, really started tipping the WTH?! meter into the red.
I told Rondas to reload while I did the same. After reloading the vid the first time or so, I was taken back to the first...
And then, I reloaded one more time.
The third and final Flash movie came into view. It scrolled from left to right as did the first, and the creepy soundtrack was still there, and, like the other two, ran in a perpetual loop as well.
At first, Rondas thought the woman in the film was Mylène Farmer, as her hair did appear to be a bit red. I agreed for a while until I played the film once more, when I noticed that it was an extreme closeup of the first video, and that the woman was, indeed, Lili.
After that, everything exploded.
So, we have two images show our Lili in a state of post-mortem, but what of the three Flash movies? What is going on with those?
And what is with the creepy music?
And why is the website called "A Child of the Century?"
I have no idea, mes amis. I really don't. Maybe those were just teasers, those films. Maybe she wanted to tell the world, "Oui, I really am working" or something like that...
But maybe, just maybe, they, like Lili, point to something in the works.
Can you imagine Alizée going on-stage as Alizée Jacotey?

Alizée 101 Philosophy
So what is the significance of the three videos, the "charcoalesque' drawings?
As I explained in previous comments to a good question...we are in class. The professor has presented us with a poem or some philosophy and our homework assignment is to attempt to figure out what the author intended.
Are the 3 videos meaningless? They were hidden in a website just for fun and have no meaning? Or are they telling us something. Are they preparing us for the future? Are they some form of video quatrains?
The professor has given us an assignment. What is your analysis? Due by the end of the week.
What you see in a Rimbaud poem maybe different from what I see. You may interpret Voltaire different then myself. That is part of the beauty. And what was the author actually trying to tell us...we may never know. Or it maybe like a Nostradamus quatrain, you do not know what it means until after it happens.
Now as you all know I know nothing, but if you have ever followed 'Popismyheart' on Twitter he knows some things. Popismyheart has suggested that the videos are "teasers". Teasers as of this is what we should expect? Interesting. 
So, the new question is, did Popismyheart tweet fit my comments or did I write the comments to fit around his tweet? Oh it never ends.
Oh, one more thing...charcoalesque...yeah I made up a word, hope I spelled it correctly. LadyCameronXII is where I saw it first mentioned as charcoal drawings and I just butchered it from there. Can you misspell a made up word? These philosophical problems are driving me crazy.

Today things happened, sites changed and updated...I took a deep sigh and said thank goodness. Concentrating on insight and opinions I said let's see what happens and come back and evaluate it.

Alizée - a concept album
While we have the time let us prepare for what a concept album is...
Time to pull in Wikipedia:
"In popular music, a concept album is an album that is "unified by a theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, narrative, or lyrical".[1] Commonly, concept albums tend to incorporate preconceived musical or lyrical ideas rather than being improvised or composed in the studio, with all songs contributing to a single overall theme or unified story. This is in contrast to the practice of an artist or group releasing an album consisting of a number of unconnected (lyrically or otherwise) songs performed by the artist."
Hmm...preconceived musical or lyrical ideas. Notice it did not say music based on market surveys. A concept is more of a creative expression of an artist. Something the artist had an urge to create. Are you ready...or are you just ignoring me and the facts?
There have been many concept albums and some that have resulting in popular songs. Will it be like Serge Gainsbourgs' "Histoire de Melody Nelson" or more like the Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" or The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Or even the unannounced Britney concept collection based on Caligula...(that was a joke...please, just joking)

Alizée week end wrap up 10/17/2009
It looked like it was going to be a busy week but then as fast as things heated up, just as fast it cooled down.
It was reported through Psychalizee Twitter account that a fan saw Alizée on the street and that Alizée confirmed a new album for next year plus concerts.
Nothing else came from that post. I was glad to see that Alizée fandom took that news just as it was presented and did not grow rumors from it.
So there we go...one Twitter post. Every week there seems to be just one thing.
If there is a single that will be released, which there should be...eventually...I would assume the video is already made. So many people involved in a new album release. So little information...it would be extremely difficult to control the leaks...how are "they" managing that? It is impressive. For Alizée to get that across to all involved says something about her, how she has grown as a behind the scenes manager of her own career.

Low-Fi video was done a while ago, we had a few drinks on us and we were reading the chords and lyrics as we went. Blodo's kind of embarrassed by all the mistakes. I personally think the part where I forget the lyrics and go all "yayawaawaya" is worth the view.

While we wait for Alizee
Ein unorganisierter neuer dachte. Teil Weg unten auf der linken Säule schlossen wir einen neuen Fächer gemacht Video ein. Unsere Gedanken sind, dass wir einen neuen Anhänger gemacht Video von 2 Tagen bis zu den 2 Wochen rotieren lassen. Wir mochten wirklich dieses Video der Anhänger selbst, aber es kann ein Alizee Liedvideo auch sein. Etwas, um Spaß damit zu haben, während wir warten. Werden wir sie aufpicken, oder werden Sie sie vorlegen... wir wissen noch nicht.
Un nuevo pensamiento no organizado. Parte camino abajo en la columna izquierda incluimos un nuevo ventilador hecho el vídeo. Nuestros pensamientos son que alternamos a un nuevo admirador hecho el vídeo, de 2 días a 2 semanas. Realmente nos gustó este vídeo de los admiradores ellos mismos pero puede ser un vídeo de canción Alizee también. Algo para divertirse con mientras esperamos. Vamos escogerlos o va usted presentarlos... no sabemos aún.
Une nouvelle pensée non organisée. La partie la voie en bas sur la colonne gauche nous avons inclus un nouveau ventilateur fait la vidéo. Nos pensées sont que nous faisons tourner un nouveau ventilateur fait la vidéo, de 2 jours à 2 semaines. Nous avons aimé vraiment cette vidéo des ventilateurs eux-mêmes mais cela peut être une vidéo de chanson Alizee aussi. Quelque chose pour s'amuser avec pendant que nous attendons. Allons nous les choisir ou allez vous leur soumettre... nous encore ne savons pas.
A new unorganized thought. Part way down on the left column we included a new fan made video. Our thoughts are that we rotate a new fan made video, from 2 days to 2 weeks. We really liked this video of the fans themselves but it can be an Alizee song video too. Something to have fun with while we wait. Shall we pick them or shall you submit them...we do not know yet.

Alizée and music industry questions
There are two things I would like to see us have to become more intelligent Alizée fans.
I would like to see a flow chart or some chart in regards to what company does what and what company is related to what company.
There is Jive Epic - responsible for?
Epic Records
Sony or Sony Mexico
Who reports to whom and who has what responsibilities in regards to Alizée's new album.
What is Institubes exact role. Does Wisteria Song fit in to this picture.
I maybe the only one that is interested in this. It would be cool if Jive Epic would answer that.
Second.
Releasing a song as a single, what does that really mean.
An album comes out, a song is released as a single. What does it mean for that song that the other songs on the album are not entitled to? It's own video? Radio play? An opportunity for that single to become its own profit center?

oh no, here we go again...
Without knowing much about the new album we still have a little wiggle room to speculate...and this mornings speculation is this. What will the single be that is released?
I feel comfortable saying there will be a song in Spanish, I think that is a safe bet. Oh yeah I see all your heads moving up and down, good. So, going on that assumption, will that be the single that is released?
Some thoughts thrown against the wall:
Will the single be....
An upbeat song or a ballad?
If all songs were in French I would definitely say upbeat.
But if the Spanish song is a ballad....
That leads to the bigger question
Do you release the Spanish song as 'The Single'
We know two things about the album, the subject matter is to relate to Edie Sedgwick and one song is to be in Spanish.
Out of those two items, which has your finger ready to click on the iTune purchase button.
I would just love to hear Alizée sing about Edie, or...
I would just love to hear Alizée sing a song in Spanish.
Yes, we love the Edie story and idea of a concept album is interesting we, well I anyway, kind of can not wait to hear "the sound" of the Spanish song. (more on a concept album at the bottom of the post)
So what do you release? Do you release a French song? Will we be saying yeah yeah that is nice but what about the Spanish song Alizée? Do you release the Spanish song first and does that have any implications at "home".

Is it just a Spanish song? or..
Is it a French song with a Spanish version? Sort of like what Shakira did with She Wolf, it came out as La Loba but has the related English version. (keeps everyone happy I think)
To release the Spanish song first or not, that is what is on my mind this morning.

I am not going to post any links here but you can google "concept album" and read some articles on it. What it is all about to articles on the return of the concept album.
But...there was a concept album that Alizée talked about. She did not call it a concept album but it is described as such. I wonder...did she put together a concept album based on this format??? I do wonder now that it has crossed my mind.
